Gators Win 2019 SEC Regular Season Title
    Corinne Simpson UF
No. 3 Florida tops South Carolina and concludes conference action undefeated
    Quotes from the Gators:
    Head Coach Bryan Shelton
On what today means to this program . . .
"I'm just really proud of our team. We knew that it was going to be a tough, emotional match with senior day. Those matches are tough for us because those seniors mean so much to us, two guys in Alfredo Perez and McClain Kessler that have done so much for this program and helped us get to where we are today."

    Junior Johannes Ingildsen
On his win clinching the SEC title . . .
"It was huge. Clinching the SEC title is something that I'll remember for the rest of her life. This is the reason I came here- to win these big matches."

    Senior McClain Kessler
On his emotions on senior day . . .
"I don't want to ever leave here, so it was sad. But I was also pumped because we were going to win the title. You just don't know how many matches you are going to play, so every point means so much."

Gators win SEC men’s tennis title outright

The No. 3 Gators defeated 18th-ranked South Carolina 6-1 on Sunday to capture the program’s first regular-season conference championship since 2003. UF already owned a share of the title going into the match, but the players wanted it to themselves.

“For our guys, this is something they wanted,” Florida coach Bryan Shelton said. “We knew that we had a share of the title, but these guys didn’t want to share. They’re good guys, but they did not want to share that title with Mississippi State or anyone else. Just really proud of our team.”

Before Florida (20-2, 12-0 SEC) could shed tears of joy Sunday, several players found themselves crying before their regular-season finale against the Gamecocks (15-8, 5-7). That meant Senior Day for McClain Kessler and Alfredo Perez, both of whom were honored prior to the top-20 showdown.

“Those two guys that have done so much for this program to help us to get to where we are now,” Shelton said. “To celebrate them with the ceremony, we had guys all in tears before we started the match. You’re not used to going into battle feeling emotional like that. But something sparked right after that.”

Great season and a great ending....nice that the seniors both got solid wins.
And maybe the best doubles outing of the year.
Should be a heck of a postseason

What’s the expected line up now for the post season? Or, are there certain matchups- some players match up better with certain rival foes?

Hard to say, but Grief has been awfully good. Hard to leave him out. Kessler isnt the most talented guy, but ton of experience and a real fighter. Perez all comes down to where his game is...at the apex he was a top 20 national player. He's not that right now, but where is he? And Vale finished the year very strongly. Nice options
Coach will have a couple of chances to mix things up vs lesser opponents in early round so he might play around a little. Will be interesting to watch

With the depth our program has right now there is no "set" lineup. However, Greif will figure into the post season for sure. Last Sunday's lineup was for senior day.

This team reminds me f the women in their prime....could use their 7 and 8 talents in the first round or even second in SEC and regional play. Great advantage to keep everyone fresh
