Gators Travel to Birmingham for SEC Championships
    Lucy Berres
The Florida women's golf team begins post-season play Wednesday in Birmingham, Alabama for the SEC Championships.
The Gators are currently the No. 4 team in the conference, behind Vanderbilt (1), Arkansas (2), and Tennessee (3). They last won the SEC title in 2017, with one current Gator from that squad, junior Marta Perez. The team returns four players from last year's conference squad, Perez, junior Sierra Brooks, and sophomores Elin Esborn and Addie Baggarly. The fifth player in the lineup this year will be freshman Clara Manzalini.

Florida finished their 2018-19 season ranked No. 9 in the country and with two team titles, two individual titles, and seven top-five finishes. Most recently, they finished sixth at the Liz Murphy Collegiate Classic last week hosted by SEC opponent Georgia.

And Baggarly goes bogey, double bogey, triple bogey, birdie, bogey to give it all away
Sierra Brooks also 3 over not helping much, her score is UF's worst at the moment. She has had some bad results this season mixed in with the high profile stuff
UF even as a team thanks to Marta Perez and Manzalini...3rd place

UF finished 1st day at -4, tied for 1st with Auburn.

    69 for Perez , she’s tied for 2nd (1 back).
    Esborn and Manzalini at -1
Baggarly finished +1...after getting to -6 on the day after hole 11.

Three teams rated in the SEC better than UF.

They are 12 better than #4 Vandy,
    7 better than #6 Arkansas,
    3 better than #11 USCe.

Eliminate the triples (only good in baseball!)

Really nice day for the team....dropping Brooks score tells you they played well. Her round wasn't that bad either. This team could make a little noise in the postseason

Brooks goes birdie-birdie to begin her back 9
    Gators jump into the lead.

Really good front nines. Very close scoring by the gators
34, 35 and three 37’s. No high scores that can strain the rest of the players.

Look to safely be in the top 2, and should face a lesser opponent to start off match play. All the teams fighting for the 7/8 slots are lower ranked unless Vandy or Auburn slide
