Florida enters the postseason on the uptick as it earned two top 50 victories over the course of its final three matches. The Gators' lone setback during the stretch occurred against No. 5 South Carolina (17-4, 12-1) which finished second in the conference standings. On April 11, UF notched an important win when it defeated No. 14 Michigan, 4-3. Not only was it an impressive victory in terms of the opponent but it was also pivotal in that it ensured that Gators would finish the season .500 or better, establishing their eligibility for NCAA Tournament action.
Featuring a roster that returned the services of just three players from last season's group, the Gators began the year with a relatively inexperienced team but have seen great growth over the course of the campaign. The Gators played competitive tennis all season long and battled in nine matches decided by one point. Despite losing six of their first seven matches decided by 4-3 verdicts, they won back-to-back 4-3 contests to close out the season. Taking on the always challenging SEC slate in addition to a stiff non-league schedule, Florida picked up eight wins against top 50 opponents including four top 25 foes.
