Florida was one of two teams to receive multiple first-place votes from the league's coaches, while sophomore outfielder Jud Fabian garnered All-SEC Second Team recognition.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The coaches have voted and the Gators are once again expected to finish near the top of the Southeastern Conference.

The league's 14 coaches voted in the 29th annual preseason SEC poll, released on Thursday, and selected Vanderbilt as the preseason favorite. Florida was the only other team that received multiple first-place votes. The Gators were also picked to finish second in the SEC East behind the Commodores.

In addition, sophomore outfielder Jud Fabian was voted onto the Preseason All-SEC Second Team. Fabian hit .232 with 32 runs and 26 runs batted in, in addition to posting a .993 fielding percentage as a 54-game starter in center field for the Gators.

Coaches will be surprised when play AU apparently.. Woley will be at 3B, Greenhill will be 3rd starter.

And Id take second team 2 SPs over 1st teams in a hot second.

Still a bit of a mystery, imo.
I suspect there might be some improvement with Barco. But we might need to win a few games with more offense!
Catching, I suspect, will be better. I think having J young in RF rather than 2nd will be better ( with Acton at 2nd)....left side of the infield, though, will be a work in progress.

I've seen a lot of Barco here in Jax. I'm hoping he'll be another one of those frosh pitchers that excels immediately.

I agree on Lacy but Hancock is the best player in America. He led the entire country in WHIP as a sophomore. Dude is legit number 1 stuff and a future All-Star.

Kumar might have equal ability but he hasn’t shown anywhere near Hancock’s consistency. Not even close. I will give Kumar the June edge as Hancock was rocked in Athens in the Super but Hancock clearly had the much better year than Kumar last year.

It was a package deal..;) But IMO Rocker better or will be, but close. And Burns better than Lacy, also close. Im not complaining w/ any of the 4. JMO

Hancock and Burns matched up last year. Almost identical lines. 6 ip, 3 ER, 4 Ks,, Hancock did walk 3, Burns 0. Both no decisions, only game AU won , in extras 4-3

Yup, I actually heard Strickland say that in interview last week on the Burns/Doering morning show. Then immediately bragged about being #2 in SEC wins last 2 years...lol

Butch has taken AU to 3 straight while rebuilding, or building from scratch more accurately. With half the ,,,oh nm,, Im not starting in on that subject yet....;)

Hancock was spanked tonight. 6 runs in 4 innings. An ERA of 13.50. Not a great start for him. UGA still won 7-6.

yup, Spiders quit scoring after he left. Couldn't hold on.

Burns was ok, not great 5 IP. 3 ER, 7 Ks, 4 hits, all to 7-8-9 hitters including 2 run HR on 0-0 pitch center cut.(lazy pitch) the other AA Greenhill was perfect in last 4 other than a walk. 6 Ks.

Noles lost to Niagra. Surprised not its own thread yet...lol
