I want to give JR credit as she has slowly had the girls increase their vault values through the season. But,with the talent we have, we have the ability to win it all, and we have not performed our best on the biggest stages since JR took over. It seems we have trouble on the beam when it matters most as well. Our scores the past 2 weeks will get us clobbered at Nationals.

I am rooting for JR to prove me wrong this year, have the girls relaxed and focused, and break through with some big wins at the end of the year!

    Growing up Gator
Lauren Staff - UF Athletics Communications
Orange and Blue pride is running high for parents (and UF alums) of Gator seniors Alicia Boren and Amanda Cheney.

In 1987, Alice Tucker and Curt Boren graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine.

That same year, Brian and Leslie Cheney graduated with their bachelor's degrees from UF.

Now 33 years later, both of their daughters, seniors Alicia Boren and Amanda Cheney, are competing in their last home meet as Gators. Friday's Senior Night versus No. 25 Penn State begins at 6:45 p.m. in the Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center.
"(I) definitely followed their footsteps by coming here," Amanda said.

198.025, tied their season high. Might move home back past UCLA for 2nd nationally, will be close.
Hopefully they are getting it figured out again for post season.

Not that it matters much, but I just went back and did the math, if UCLA doesn’t improve their score this weekend, I think we are in an exact tie. If they do, it would come down to the conference meets for second. Pretty much window dressing though either way, all that matters are nationals, and with the new format consistency will be key.

Gators' Performance Perfect Way to Enter Postseason
    Ethan Hughes, FloridaGators.com Intern
The UF gymnastics team turned up the intensity in an inspiring regular-season finale Friday night
A week after claiming the program's first SEC regular-season championship, No. 3 UF put the finishing touches on a strong regular season with arguably its most complete meet of the year in a win over No. 25 Penn State on Friday night. The Gators' 198.025 tied for their highest score in 2019 (Oklahoma on Feb. 1 was the other).

Florida (7-2) turned in a clean performance against the Nittany Lions (5-8), with no falls or major hops on dismounts. The only exception was junior Amelia Hundley's fall on floor exercise, but her 9.125 was dropped as the lowest score. The Gators had the three highest individual scores on every event but the uneven bars.

"I mentioned taking a bigger jump this spring break and having us make a big turnaround and a big change in whatever it needed to be, whether it was outside of the gym, inside of the gym, we need to pay attention to the details, and that definitely showed tonight," senior Alicia Boren said.
