    The 800 Free Relay team of Baqlah, Smith, Freeman, and Rooney record the fastest time in Florida history
    AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Florida men's swimming team returned to the pool for the first time at the 2019 NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas on Wednesday. The Gators opened the championships with a historic swim in the 800 Free Relay, as the Gators currently sit in fifth place with 28 points.

    The team of Khader Baqlah, Kieran Smith, Trey Freeman, and Maxime Rooney clocked the fastest time in Florida History. Their combined swim of 6:09.14 earned the squad a fifth-place finish. The team earned First-Team All-American honors.

    This is Rooney's sixth All-American accolade and Baqlah's fifth All-American honor. Freeman and Smith earned their first All-American nods.

    Smith, along with the 400 Medley Relay team of Stokowski, Guarente, Rooney, and Main, earned First-Team All-American honors on day two
    AUSTIN, Texas – Kieran Smith and the 400 Medley Relay team led the Gators on day two of the 2019 NCAA Championships on Thursday at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center. The University of Florida men's swimming team currently sits in fifth place with 76 points.

    Smith earned a First-Team All-American honor in the 200 IM with his eighth-place finish and his swim of 1:44.23. Smith collected his second First-Team All-American nod with his performance. He is the only freshman to earn First-Team All-American status in the 200 IM this season.

    The 400 Medley Relay team of Kacper Stokowski, Marco Guarente, Maxime Rooney, and Bayley Main all earned First-Team All-American accolades for their eighth-place time of 3:04.66. Their swim is the fifth-best in Florida history. Rooney collected his seventh All-American honor, while Main earned his second. Guarente and Stokowski both earned their first All-American accolades.

    Rooney Leads Gators on Day Three in Austin

    Maxime Rooney and Kieran Smith each earned First-Team All-American honors
    AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Florida men's swimming team returned to the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center on Friday for day three of the 2019 NCAA Championships. Maxime Rooney led the Gators on day three with the highest individual finish so far for the championships. UF currently sits in sixth place with 136 points.

    • "The biggest thing that stood out tonight was the resilience of our guys. We missed a couple of spots this morning. Tonight was fantastic! The IM, Fly, Free, Back, and Medley Relay all showed up for us tonight."
