That is an improvement so far over last year's exhibition against Japan where we got zero runs on two hits. GO GATORS!

Chronister, Trlicek and Hightower all throwing well.....Farley and Lugo not so much.
Abbott must have been amazing in the circle, she was k'ing up everybody. Once she went out we could hang

Bottom of 7, having the tying run in scoring position with one out....actually have a shot here

Great fight tonight, the confidence gained from being a liner that didn’t drop away from beating the best in the world is going to serve them well the rest of the year.

The gators had a lot better showing than I expected. Aside from Lugo and Farley I liked the pitching. Might could’ve won if Lugo was pulled sooner. She just missed way too much under pressure. Great fight though!

Abbott was all that and a bag of chips, a masterful outing for her, if she does not return UF likely wins the game
$35.00 per ticket and actually worth the price, loved being there, seeing our current team battle as they did and to see our former players representing like they did was absolutely superb.

Former Gators Welcomed Home; Gators Hang with Team USA

The trio received a resounding welcome by the 1,935 fans in attendance to watch the two teams play. The group even participated in the pregame coaches meeting to exchange lineups and go over the ground rules on the field they each played on during their four memorable years with the program.
GAINESVILLE – The No.7-ranked Florida softball team welcomed former Gator Greats Michelle Moultrie, Aubree Munro and Kelsey Stewart along with the rest of the USA Softball Women's National Team to Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium for an exhibition contest, which resulted in a 5-3 decision in favor of the Red, White and Blue.

The trio received a resounding welcome by the 1,935 fans in attendance to watch the two teams play. The group even participated in the pregame coaches meeting to exchange lineups and go over the ground rules on the field they each played on during their four memorable years with the program.
As for the game itself, fans were on the edge of their seat until the very end as the Gators were poised to upset the world's No.1-ranked team. UF forced one of the world's best pitchers in Monica Abbott to return to the circle in the bottom of the 7th inning with two runners on and one out.
She issued a strikeout and a walk to load the bases for junior Hannah Adams and the Hoschton, Ga. native nearly got enough on one of Abbott's pitches to tie the game, but it stayed in the air long enough for center fielder Haylie McCleney to retrieve the final out.

Abbott started the game in the circle and Florida battled with the former Tennessee All-American for the first five innings, before the WNT called in relief pitcher and 2019 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Rachel Garcia.
Down 5-0 in the bottom of the 6th inning, Florida's offense came alive when sophomore Cheyenne Lindsey put down a clutch bunt single down the first base line with one out. A batter later with two outs on the board, senior three-time NFCA All-American Kendyl Lindaman sent Garcia's offering off the scoreboard in left center field to close down USA's lead to 5-2.

Proud of the UF softball community for filling the stands, even with a very high ticket price. Shows that we have great softball fans.

And beer wasn't even offered yet!

UF falls to USWNT, welcomes back alumni
Alligator Sports Payton Titus, Sports Writer
Three former Gators made the trip back to Gainesville last night in a different uniform. Aubree Munro, Kelsey Stewart and Michelle Moultrie stepped out onto the diamond to greet their former coach Tim Walton.

Clad in red, white and a different shade of blue, the Florida alumni still received a warm welcome home. During team introductions, all three were greeted with a standing ovation. Fans of all ages erupted each time their names were said over the PA system. Spectators who sat in the old Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium to watch them play and little girls who wore diapers the last time they took the field at UF and now repped their own youth softball team jerseys were in attendance. “To be able to hug them at home plate when they brought out the lineup card was really cool,” Walton said. “That was a different feeling, to be able to see players that you’ve seen grow up a lot, so that was a really special feeling.”

In an emotional exhibition game, Team USA defeated Florida, 5-3.

Senior Katie Chronister started in the circle for the Gators (4-1 regular season) but was relieved by junior Natalie Lugo after facing just four batters. Chronister allowed no hits and forced two ground outs in the first inning. Together, she and Lugo became the second pitching staff to hold the Women’s National Team (7-0 in its Stand Beside Her Tour) runless for the first two innings in their current tour. The Gators went through five pitchers in seven innings: Chronister, Lugo, freshman Rylee Trlicek, and sophomores Danni Farley and Elizabeth Hightower.

Coming off of the fourth freshman no-hitter in program history, Trlicek allowed only one run in the fourth and fifth innings combined against Team USA. Farley’s second game of the 2020 season fared better than her first against then-No. 17 Michigan, as she and Hightower shut out the WNT in the sixth inning.
