Even with the roster exemptions it could be chaos. There are only 8 defensive positions, a pitcher and a DH in the college game. Bigger rosters just mean more guys on the bench. There will be some really good players hitting the transfer portal over the next several years. People think Seniors coming back will hurt the game but the draft being shortened is what really hurts in my opinion.

Agreed—it alters plans for players, coaches, recruitment, and programs all. Bottom line—that can be a lot of game changing impact.

Recent history shows the players drafted in the top 10 rounds go pro. Only a few make it to campus. So effectively half of the usual number of people are going pro PLUS the random later round guys. Definitely going to be interesting.

D1 Baseball writer Kendall Rogers just tweeted they are nearing 1,000 players in the portal now. Pulled it up and found 2 more Gators on the list. Matt Powell and Kevin Martin. Wish them the best of luck going forward!

Best of luck to the young men, but Martin did not make the 35 man squad last year and Powell was a backup catcher who did not appear in any games, after the draft on Thursday is when I think things will really get interesting as kids will have to start decided especially if they are looking at going to another school.

Hickey came in and took the slot behind the plate, good behind the plate and a power hitter with potential, I think Matt would have been a good back up to Nathan next season, Brady does not want to catch and I don't know if Cal wants to keep hanging around

It’s hot stuff!! Well, not hot in a blazing sun fashion, like the Mac, but hot in a cool way.

are the gators able to get out on the playing surface yet? Shag some balls?

Playing time is everything. To most kids as long as they are playing there generally happy. School is secondary
