Gators In The AP & Coaches Polls (3/10/2025) [Update at #147]

Gator head, there was a radio station on S. 441 Gainesville, (OZ enterprises) that would have Battle of bands periodical. One night I was in my car I heard a southern rock song. Immediately I thought of the Allman Brothers. Between songs the radio DJ said come on down to the Battle of bands, lynnyrd Skynyrd and a band from Orlando. I had already turned around to go and when I got there Ronnie Van Zant said who they were and that they had signed with a contract professionally and they were going to play their first album. I was in heaven as they rocked about 500 people for the next hour. Local bands like Skynnyrd, Mudcrutch(Tom Petty, Mike Campbell, Benmont Tench, etc)
RGF were always playing in Gainseville, I was lucky enough to have seen all these bands and living and going to school there, early seventies!
