Sproat has a lot of upside, i think he just needs to find control and consistency before another pitch. I don't think he has one consistent pitch he can throw for a strike right now.

Agree. I’ve broken down the difference from beginning of round 4 to end of 5 and unless he’s going in the 3rd round I see him coming back. Projections I’ve seen also say mid 4 to late 5. Could easily see 6/7th round.

Me too, I was surprised he was in Florida as not sure if still the same but talent level from Florida to Cape Cod is very different.

Butler is rumored to be heading to Tennessee.

Iwonder if he got a promise to get more innings as a pitcher, I know that was one reason he returned pre covid

That's the Vols problem if true, but I can easily see why Butler would make that decision. He doesn't hit for enough power to have a pro future as a first baseman and had lost his job at UF. Just my opinion of course. Seems like a good kid, wish him the best, except vs UF of course.

When I had first row seats behind home plate I sometimes had an extra and would invite scouts down.

Butler had a great curve coming out of HS, but there was a question about velocity on his fastball. When I told them he was sometimes hitting 90 mph their interest was piqued.

Now pitching and throwing are too different things, but if you can throw there is a chance that you can learn how to pitch. If you can't throw there is no chance.

Just sold a rental house today. Had it for over 27.5 years so all of the depreciation is gone. Now I have to figure out what we put in that we didn't use as something against income to figure out the amount of capital gains. Document stamps and other fees are easy.

I did mow the lawn as a courtesy. Lots of folks don't do that. Most folks are jerks.

Sterlin Thompson named a reserve in the Fl League all star game. Both teams name a full starting lineup PLUS 2 extra hitters, and then reserves....so he must not be lighting it up all that much.

Barco struck out first 6 batters he faced so he did ok. 7th batter he faced bunted and you can probably guess how that went. Ended with 8 strikeouts in 3 innings with only the bunter reaching base.

Sproat threw 3 shutout innings tonight. Pitch count was too high for 3 innings but his outings with the Collegiate National Team have been very encouraging.
