Dexter may be a rare one physically but still has lots of technique to work on. What people are missing is all we need from young DT’s is to play 10-15 snaps a game and that’s probably from just Dexter. In terms of development love to see one other Freshman DT get 9-10 snaps a game.

Can we get back to discussing football. Enough with the history rewrite. Take it elsewhere.

Thompson converted to OL while at OU. I don't know if he wants to get back to DT, or even how good he was.

Jordan is a senior this year, so wouldn't really help us for our shortage next year.

Lawless-Sherrill is a redshirt freshman this year, so he wouldn't help with the age problem.

At this point it would more likely be a senior transfer after the season. We just need to save the initial counter.

I appreciate that the mods are seemingly giving us a little more room than we’re used to. First of all, these off topic posts aren’t causing anybody to miss out on anything.

I come to these boards and see the same old threads from days earlier. If anything new and interesting pops up we will be all over it. In the meantime, we’re able to roam into different topics without being banished to Too Hot, where reasonable discussion is next to impossible.

I’m guessing (hoping) that we’re being allowed to talk about stuff like Columbus and some venturing into politics because we’re actually being pretty respectful in our exchanges. I say let’s keep it nice and chat away and stop worrying so much whether or not a post is a little off topic.

This is an amazing football recruiting forum. I enjoy reading the many observations (some of which differ from mine) about UF recruiting. Please do not use this site for nonfootball related agendas. GatorCountry has provided other forums appropriate for such. I, again, request forum moderators to intervene.

You’re not missing out on anything dude. Feel free to skim over an off-topic post. Because you prefer putting tight boundary conditions on what is posted in the forum, you want to deny others the pleasure of straying off topic to pursue an interesting discussion. I personally learned a lot about Christopher Columbus that I’d have never learned if the thread or topic was banished to Too Hot.

Try not to take all this quite so seriously. It’s the Covid off-season - what else to you expect to find here that a few off-topic discussions are preventing you from finding?

    Sheesh!

And you know what? Him now reppin Miami to the fullest is why im HAPPY that UF slow played him. Why? Because basicslly now that it seems Marshall and Taylor are UM bound, he wanna stay but had they wanted on board at UF, he would have followed. So had we accepted his wanting to flip months ago to UF, and had Marshall and Taylor picked Miami, he looks like one who would have looked to flip back to Miami. Nope, don't need that

I think that's very good logic, Bobby. Hadn't thought of it like that. It's almost like taking a recruit's commitment that is considered high-risk for academic, health, or other reasons. If you know he's likely to move on, why invest and scare away other good recruit options on the board? Plus, when someone decommits, it's always presented as if it's rats abandoning a sinking ship, so, it burns you twice with the loss itself and, additionally, with the public perception hit.
