He is a lot shorter than Treadwell.
I think 1 per game would be acceptable
I wasn't suggesting a Percy workload from the backfield. I just meant he has the size to run between the tackles.
For example we come out with no backs, passing formation, he is a candidate to move into the backfield and run a read option play with Emory.
I agree we have some very talented backs, I didn't mean to suggest he needed significant carries, just more of a special package.
I didn't fact check this, but I was thinking Treadwell was a bigger guy, 6'2 plus 220 type?
Copeland is more 5'11 or so right? He's also somewhat of a stiff runner. My comparison to Percy was just the filling out and strength. Not the speed or athleticism side.
I'd like to see one of the OL competing at RG get some PT at RT too.
I recall his high school clips. He played a lot of Wildcat and looked good running the ball. Played some RB as well. He wasn't as elusive as Harvin but was a powerful runner. Looked like it hurt to tackle him. His BP didn't surprise me at all. I'd be very surprised if he didn't break out this year.
Um, if he squeezes the ball and it pops, does it count as a catch and if so do they blow the whistle and stop play so there's no YAK? Sounds like something we will be pondering soon.
Looks like a 2 deep at center is developing:
Kingsley Eguakun at center could provide perfect O-line solution (247sports.com)
I've also read that Stewart Reese is also a possibility for the 1 at center. So much speculation, so little facts.....
Personally, I could not care less. What I DO care about is seeing several other bodies out there and seeing if they are as good - or better - than the original option(s). No real depth means either 1) we are poor at developing O-line talent or 2) Mullen/Hev have a damn strong stubborn streak. But that is to be seen and not expected...I hope.
I say we let Desmond Watson return kickoffs...he could probably carry the whole opposing team downfield...eat a few along the way...and fart the last ones off as he crossed the goal line.
Doesn’t hurt though. Getting off press coverage and fighting that outside leverage on a cover 2 boundary corner. Strength will be a factor
Wyoming is the new Sweden
Reminds me more of rod tidwell.
DFB. Love it!
No worries. The rule changes have already killed the kickoff returns.
He actually broke his forearm during fall practices 2020.
CB Ethan Pouncey who missed all of 2020 with a knee injury its having a very good camp. It seems like the coaching staff wants Desmond Watson at 375 LBs.
ah, the great question — forgive me if this is already somewhere above, but where are you getting this: they said that they wanted him at 375 (or that he needs to shed 25 pounds)?
Methinks they are giving him little bites of the apple instead of the whole thing. 25 pounds seems like a good focus for a goal. And then they can sell him on another one if his stamina isn't quite up to SEC standards.
