Schools and UF are pretty much done, so go to the game and then have time to shop, whatever. They did this a couple of years ago and I went during lunch and another hour of paid leave, then back to the office
I was curious as well. Another theory is that it gives the team/staff a chance for a weekday, mid-afternoon game that is common in Round 1 & 2 of the NCAA tournament. Coaches and players like routine and rhythm so maybe this gives them a chance to perfect their routine.
