    Gator football program’s momentum zapped

Florida coaches are dealing with player departures, decommitments, accusations and arrests.

Momentum is a powerful thing. But it can also be fickle. That’s why it doesn’t come with an expiration date, because no one has any idea how long it’s going to last.
The 2017 Florida Gators know all about momentum, and how quickly it can be lost.
And now it appears the 2019 Gators are starting to find out as well.

Just a few short weeks ago, everything about coach Dan Mullen’s football program seemed positive. The Gators were in full feel-good mode and riding a tidal wave of momentum.
It was momentum that started to kick in late last season, and only surged from there over the following months.

That article is as useless as most of the duplicate posts and threads on this board. Offers zero new information - just a negative rehash of what we already know

For Andreu to immediately compare Mullen to Sharkteeth, whether it be program-wise or personal-wile is totally ludicrous.

What is this moron thinking, writing an article like this, knowing that reporters from other media sources will pick up on this and run with it?
For him to insinuate that "there are are more rumblings" is inflammatory and unprofessional..

Andreu needs to jump on the media knee jerk bandwagon I guess.

Didn't he incorrectly pick us to lose most games last year? It seems he is rarely ever right.

Nothing has changed in my opinion. The Gators are going lights out from start to finish in 2019.

Go Gators , and thanks Dan and coaches for cranking things up at Florida.

    Go Gators! Chomp, chomp, chomp!!!

Andreu and Dooley need to be put out to pasture. They aren't even trying anymore. Any one of us could write their lazy articles at this point.

Comparing this situation to McElwain is just silly.

McElwain lost what were probably his 2 best returning offensive starters.

While Mullen's recent losses are certainly going to effect long-term depth, I'm not sure any of the guys who've bailed on the program recently were going to be significant contributors this season. And if we pick up this season where we left off, I think we'll be just fine.

  11. People are missing this story entirely. If anything, this is shaping up as an addition by subtraction story. A football team bonding together story.

That's the way it looks to me. I don't care if there is some further shaking out; it happens. Do we have leadership at QB? Yes. At RB? Yes. WR? Yes. OL? Yes. DL? Yes. LB? Yes. DB? Yes.

We have talented leadership at *every* position group for the first time in a very long time. You're being idiotic if you're talking about a supposed loss of momentum.

Does this really surprise anyone. Dooley & Robbie have been trying to derail any momentum the program has had for years now. Pumping out this garbage just confirms it. I bet he was in utter ecstasy putting this piece together. Then needed a smoke afterward.

I think some momentum has been zapped, but there are over 100 days to get it back before the scUM game. The Greer suspension was a big momentum zapper; no comparison.

Losing Greer was massive. No comparison between him and Steele. Not even close.

And with Zach A's original Steele article, I'm not sure that the younger Gainesville Sun writers give us much hope for that publication. While not factually wrong, it's presentation unnecessarily hurt the school. I'm taking my 2cents of web-traffic elsewhere.
