Didnt Hartman have an ERA of 9.0?

Anybody know of Pierce Coppola's status re: his back?

FWIW . . . .Gators Wire posted an article stating that BT "intends" to stay and that may be the reason for Mac's departure. (Sounds like conjecture more than anything straight from the horse's mouth) but it would be a relief if it is true. Also mentioned Tennessee as a landing spot for Mac as they have a need at catcher.

He is 2023 but I have seen several mentions that he intends to reclassify and enroll early.

There are some opinions in this thread from people whose judgment I like, but anyone who thinks they can specify Friday, Saturday and Sunday starters probably is 100% wrong. Matherly's broad categories make a lot of sense, but one or two guys will be big surprises- for the good or bad.

The potential for this group is very good, but I really believe pitching consistency will take a big step forward. There will be frosh pitchers next year to drive us crazy, but the guys who were so important at the end of this season will be miles ahead of where they were last fall..

While they lose some very good position players, my biggest fear is that no one player will come close to replacing the day in day out contributions of Sterlin Thompson. We may look back on him as an all time great.

I hate to lose Mac, but there are 300 programs where he'll be a starter on the day he arrives and I hope he does well. Of course, few of those programs play at the level UF does. On the other side of that issue, there are a dozen or more guys who were solid #1 pitchers on their mid-major teams that didn't come close to making a regional and never will. Some of those guys are interested in a year or two at a top program with 15-20 scouts at every game and most practices and some will be happy to have Sully's name on their resume. Just one, maybe two, could help the team.

Pogue will be number 5-6 there. They are loaded and more arms on the way. Florida and Tennessee are in very different spots in terms of pitching staffs.

I said that from the start that I was told he was staying, but hey you never know and he may change his mind if he is drafted high enough. But he is not known to be a great defensive player at catcher or first base

On Transfer Portal- I can see Manninig and Talbott taking the gap as well. I thought Talbott wasn't given his fair chance at reps. The few scrimmages that I watched he was a solid contact hitter.
On 2023 squad- I'd like to see Michael Robertson get a shot at CF- the kid is blazing fast- 6.30 60- so faster than Jud- and was quite heavily recruited out of HS.

Robertson is going to be a stud. Tough not having him this season in my opinion.

Yep on Robertson. Extremely tough out in HS and has gotten quite a bit bigger and stronger since then. I expect him starting. Mikey is a 20 year old redshirt Freshman from a GREAT program. Not your usual contributions next year. Expect quite a bit. Love to see his speed on base paths.

His injury this year ( Ham I seek to recall hearing) must have been bad.

I expect Robertson, Robinson, and true freshmen Tejeda and Arroyo to all have a shot at the open OF position. If Tejeda makes it to UF I penciled him in because of high end talent at the the plate. The only reason I didn't put Robertson in there was he had to take the year off and you never know how a player makes that comeback. All these players come from top level programs so they all should be well rounded players that can compete. Now its just a matter to see how they adapt to college pitching in game situations.

I guess it's more difficult to make the All SEC team than it is the All American???
