Certainly agree, I've been bumping them around for the last month. I am trying to "adjust" the lineup as to how they are currently playing in summer ball. I still feel Sully has too much faith in their ability and leadership to imagine them batting 6 and 7. I plan on making another adjustment once fall ball gets started. That said Acton, Kirby, Smith and Fabian have all been batting well this summer and look to improve their performance at the plate this year.

Is there a specific reason folks are asking about Langworthy coming back? He wasn't drafted and he has another year of eligibility left.

Should have some great competition for the outfield positions. That Brock kid does have an Edge to him!

Beats me. I suppose some folks look at other players who have left for far less. In this case I would agree with @gatorjjh who knows the situation well.

The only thing that I know of that would change his coming back would be if he had a “lights out” summer and signed as an independent non-drafted sign—his summer numbers do not indicate that happening IMHO—

I saw an article on D1 Baseball that UF had 6 players enter the transfer portal. Does anyone know who the 6 are?

I wonder if these include Miozzi, Alintoff, and Pena or if we have an additional 6. I'm not even sure if we can access the list anywhere or is it coaches only. Maybe 247 can start their own tracker.

This was posted on D1 baseball today just showing the number of players from each team entering the portal. The only mention of a Florida player by name was Alintoff and it was that he entered the portal then withdrew his name from the portal this summer.

Ruth is another one, maybe Garcia? Milchin wouldn't be surprising

Page 5 of this thread covers the Ruth info. Hogtowngator and Wesgator say Ruth is going to Palm Beach State. Didn't say anything about the personals.

Saw the D1 article on transfer portal as well and it was a head scratcher. In the article it didn't mention names, but it did say Alintoff pulled his name, so does that mean we were at 7 and since he pulled out that's a revised 6? Not sure.

Let's go with the assumption he's in the 6. That's Alintoff, Miozzi and Pena. Who are the other 3?

    - Ruth went Juco. The transfer portal is to go D1 to D1 so he didn't have to enter the portal.
    - Flint rumored to be going to Tampa. He was a Jr so couldn't go D1 and sit a year, so doesn't make sense he would have applied to the portal, and didn't need to, to go D2.
    - H McMullen might have been a candidate, but heard he had surgery on rotator that troubled him all year. He wouldn't leave and pay the medical bill.
    - Greenfield would make sense but hear he's coming back.
    - Armstrong is supposedly following his love of music. Toured all summer and didn't play baseball, hearing he might hang up the cleats. No transfer portal there.

So who left via the portal.....?

Kgator I would think all of those guys you mentioned could have put their name in the portal and ultimately opted to go the D2 or Juco route after testing the waters. I don’t know how you come up with 6 names otherwise.

Hunter Ruth is at PB State as you mentioned. Kris Armstrong has a Broadway caliber voice. I haven’t heard anything about him giving up baseball but maybe he is. He was playing hurt last year is what I heard.

Yeah, they "could have" but didnt have to. Wondering if there's a surprise (or 3) lurking. We shall see, school starts next week.

I’m pretty shocked no one has mentioned the incoming freshmen that weren’t considered top draft prospects...Hunter Mink had a 0.95 era with 81K’s and won Player of the Year for his district. He should contribute as a freshman. My sleeper pick for best rookie next season is Kevin Martin. This kid is 6’4”, 230+lbs, and looks like a grown man. On the mound, Senior year of HS sat 91-93, topped out at 95. Had a 0.87 era in one of the toughest divisions in Miami, with 72 K’s. And the best part, he’s a LEGIT 2 way guy! This kid hit .410, had 32 RBI’s, and his 10 HR’s tied him for most regular season HR’s in the state. No surprise, the kid was named a 1st team All-American and won Player of the Year.

I saw Barco, Alan & Martin play live this past Spring, and I can honestly say that from those 3, Martin was by far the best all-around player on both sides of the ball, and the stats support that argument. This kid is going to make a big impact next season.

As for the SS/2B situation, Sully should try to get Jordan Carrion to sign early and start him at SS, kid would have been a freshman this fall but he was held back at some point, he’s 18. Not sure if he’s ready for the next level offensively, but defensively he’s one of the most talented middle infielders I’ve seen in a while.
