Back in my OP I have JY leading off as well. As 23Fabe and JJH bring up Edge as a LHH, that would be very interesting as well if he makes the lineup. I have Edge as an OF. So if he were to play that would put JY back at 2nd unless Edge can play some INF. I'd really like to see a JY and AL 1-2 combo to start things off but AL has got to show he is ready in Feb. My guess, whichever lefty is hot will bat 2nd in Feb.

Feel like I need to get this in here somewhere—

Under NO circumstances can The Weather Channel personnel hit in our lineup—even if we only have 7 position players show up (I’d rather pitchers hit)—

They are 0 for 9 the last nine days on their forecasts for the Panhandle—if they’ve said 50%+ chance of thunderstorms it’s been sunny ALL DAY and if they’ve said sunny ALL DAY you guessed it, we’ve gotten 1” to 3” of rain during thunderstorms.....

They’re as consistent at the plate as them Dawgs.....:ninja3:

Jud his getting hot at the plate in summer ball. I might have to move him up in the batting order if he this keeps up.

Revamped the batting order just for looks ......
    Batting Order
1 - Young (Speed, can bunt, good 1st half)
2 - Acton (best producing Fr in conf stats)
    3 - Kirby McMullen(DH) - (batting over .342 as summer league All-Star)
4 - Smith (good April, May regular season, batting .294 this summer)
5 - Fabian (led Fr in HR, batting .293 in summer league)
6 - Langworthy (Team returning leader conf BA)
7 - Calilao - (Team leader in RBIs, great 1st half)
    8 - Flint (.362 in 22 AB)
    9 - Rivera/Nunez/Edge - top newcomer hopefuls

Obviously a good summer by some should not predict how next season will look against SEC pitching but Sully may have some options to consider as this season gets started. AL and KC, who are struggling this summer, will be higher in the order as the season goes so let's see who can continue to develop at the plate. Of course pitching is still the biggest concern and that remains to be the great unknown who will step up.

I'll take care of the batters if you take care of the pitchers, and I don't mean cold ones.

Sounded like I didn't care about pitching, but know its #1 that needs to be good to win big. Meant its too hard to know how a kid will do from high school to college. He might face 1-2 future college players that's it.
I would look at movement, control as the judge. A straight ball even at 95 without movement will be hit hard. 88-90 with movement is harder to hit.
I hate Walks can not happen more than 1 every 4 inns, I preached that over and over.
No way you throw 4 bad pitches to 1 batter before he makes contact or misses 3 pitches.

Jacob goes to OF if we get a true middle infielder for second

Acton has played a lot of second over the summer, not sure he is SS material, I won't guess until I see a week of fall practice

Didn’t read the whole thread but no way Langworthy and Calilao batting as low as 6 and 7 in batting order like Mattherly had on first page of thread.
