@BigIgator25 posted in another thread -
he was sitting with some uga fans at the exhibition game and they remarked how impressive our lineup of arms was. No drop off.

Will be interesting to see who emerges. And see the improvement over last season for the returnees.

Wonder if there will be any attrition between now and February?

    Now the pros and cons...
    Pros
    1. With Greenfield, Hickey and Powell we now have dependable depth at catcher. Hopefully fewer past balls means fewer runs allowed.
    2. The new pitchers are showing some promise. Barco and Sproat show some consistency but all newcomers have contributed this fall.
    3. We now have 4 left handed pitchers and one should start. This gives Sully more options during weekend games.
    4. We now have 5-6 dependable left hand batters. 3 will play often and 3 are available.
    5. More time bunting this fall might lead to more runs manufactured.
    6. Fabian is looking like he can lay off an outside curve ball. Plus he has been hitting more opposite field HRs this fall.
    7. Acton has settled at second and should improve our defense and possibly turn more double plays.
    8. Overall hitting has improved this fall but key batters have been known to start the season cold.
    9. Sully has new faces on his staff. Plus Fontana and Den Dekker can give another layer of guidance our guys aren't used to.
    10. Rivera hit a HR straight over the 400 sign in center. Name the last freshman to do that in the fall. Plus he might be our starting SS. Amazing!
    11. A much more favorable SEC schedule than last year's road games should help the W-L record.

    Cons
    1. Can our weekend starters be consistent? That remains to be seen.
    2. Barco has consistently looked good for 2 innings but struggles in the third. Can he learn to minimize the damage?
    3. Can Langworthy bat over 300 thru the end of March? Yes that's a stretch but he really needs to show he can.
    4. If Greenfield is our catcher can he contribute at the plate? So far he looks promising but how does he handle SEC pitching?
    5. All the backups are newcomers. Injuries have to remain a minimum for this team to maximize results.
    6. Mace and Leftwich still have quite a bit of growing to do. Are they ready to lead this pitching staff?
    7. Where's the hitting coach?
    8. It's the last year at the Mac and most games crowds are usually sparse. Do Gator fans support this team for the whole season?
    9. Does this team have a closer to depend on? Sproat can hit the upper 90s but he might be a starter. Can Crisp step up instead?
    10. SS, 3rd and C are still open for a starter to take each spot but Sully has options.

Getting consistently good production on the mound is the key and at this point still unknown if we get it right this could be a terrific year. I didn't get to practice yesterday but did chat with a friend who goes regularly and he said Mace, Leftwich and Baro all got touched up pretty good on Friday's scrimmage.

Have to remember that by this time in the fall, hitters have had a ton of at bats against those 3 so the hitters should have a pretty good advantage by now.

I agree with what you write, the one I have some concern about is Mace because this is not the first time he has been less than stellar, he has the talent I think it is more his focus that needs to improve
