"It’s the first public arrest of the new year for coach Kirby Smart’s football team, which is expected to compete for a championship in 2020."

Expected to compete for a championship by whom outside of the state of Georgia?

I don’t take pleasure in any athlete’s first mistake - even a dog’s. It can happen anywhere.

They are going to have to have many more arrests before they can compete for a NC.

Unfortunately, Georgia is ineligible. That prestigious award is only for institutions of higher learning (ahem) within the state of Tennessee.

Read this story elsewhere, in all honesty it was a pretty stupid thing to do to get arrested for (Kicking in your gf's door whom you live with)

But if he played for UF I GUARANTEE you this would be national news.

The best part of this article is at the end.
"Smart took harsh measures to stem the arrest trend that emerged last spring, making players run stadium steps in front of a crowd of boosters during a closed scrimmage."

Not exactly what I would call harsh..

Isn't that the old tried and true punishment Bobby Bowden used to levy out to any of his players whenever they got in trouble with the law - no matter what the infraction? Yeah - nothing to see here!!!

They left out the part where the reason they ran in front of the boosters was so they knew who not to give a "padded handshake" to after that weeks game.

    The difference with Kirby's "punishment"....
He's making them run the steps in front of boosters, in a closed setting....

It makes one wonder just how much money those "transgressors" are making in that "closed setting":)

Is that serious? Did the boosters give $100 high fives too?

To Georgia and Alabama fans, they think this is the type of DL they want, mean! It’s the culture. This guy will start all Georgia’s games next year.
I wonder when is someone going to expose the recruiting benes Georgia is giving out, seems like another Ole Miss to me. Cars, good jobs for the parents, Pell grants extremely high payouts, etc.
Alabama has made this their normal way of recruiting and everybody is fine with it, so Kirby has now brought it to Georgia. Forgot to mention academic standing, when was the last time Alabama or Georgia has lost a player due to grades, LOL! When the minimum requirement is zero, it is hard to not pass, just put your name on the document, or let your tutor if you can’t spell your own name. The SEC west has come to the east now. Don’t forget Tennessee with Jeremy is falling right in line. Ssseeehhhh

no enforcement what so ever. mark Emmett is a lazy take the money and run kind of guy. just look at Kansas and LSU in basketball, so dirty they can’t get the stains out, but Kansas will probably cut down the nets and the NCAA will somehow minimize their shenanigans. You wonder why Kansas and Arizona and others always get the top players, money and contracts to agents are involved. Sham
