Perfectly timed for a university with no class. Why even try.
Big semi welcoming crowd..
I’ve watched them fail to adapt to Ucf twice and lose...just watching the last minute of the cinci Memphis game he made a boneheaded decision to pass and it was a really bad decision he was lucky didn’t backfire. A minute left down 1 with your opponent out of timeouts and you pass at the 5 yard line and score...bad move. Run the ball, run clock and kick a fg. Much better decision..not scared of Norvell. He won’t be there more than two years.
FB 247 Headline. I don't care one way or the other, but it crossed my feed with that exact headline.....
Oh wait, you mean the character issues? There has been smoke for a looooong time. It's why nobody else except FSU would touch him.
Well, what's the smoke? There's no point in saying it without explaining it.
I don’t think Norvell is a bad hire. They could’ve done worse for sure. But it’s questionable at best about this being a home run. Frost has really struggled way worse than we all thought and he was seen as a home run hire. Same with Chip Kelly. I laughed when Ed O got the LSU job...not laughing now.
I’ll take a wait and see approach with Norvell before calling him a home run or a flop. One thing is certain, he has a mess to clean up.
It's been brought up in this thread multiple times, came up multiple times during our coaching search before we hired Mullen and I'm so glad we got Mullen. Believe it or don't, I don't care but it's out there..........is there a chance it's all wrong? Maybe, but if that were true somebody before FSU (including us) might have taken a much harder look..........they hired Briles for heaven's sake.......
My comparison would be they just hired Rich Rodriguez.
So this was their 'wink wink' number one guy, right? Such an enthusiastic cheer from 3 whole people...
You're really going to make me search a 155 page thread? Come on, man.
What? No stupid tomahawk chop exiting the limo?
Only time will tell but he sure is a uva or bc type of hire. But that's where fsu is. He is the best they could do for now. That Taggart is gone and it ain't Odell is a win in Tally these days.
Where the cornrows tho?
So my take is Mike Norvell is a solid hire and good coach. He is actually going to a statistically weaker conference and day one inheriting better talent than he had at Memphis. He will win 10 games next year, losing to Clemson and Florida; both badly. Taking the first step will be easy, but the next step is something Norvell has never done and his real test will be can he recruit to get even with Clemson and Florida. The fact he couldn’t do it against UCF, even this year when they were down, is initial evidence that he can’t.
No offense, but the fact that "character" issues have been brought up multiple times on this board doesn't prove anything. A lot of things get brought up on the internet that have no basis in fact.
I'd like to know some specifics on what these "character" issues are before I start slandering the guy.
231,438 views and only @3095 posts (so far). Maybe because our F$U lurkers were worried that we would notice their pour grammear?
Fine. I don't care. It's brought up a ton of times on this and previous threads and everybody's fine. I mention something that's been brought up multiple times and you guys get upset. Whatever.........
They did better than Tennessee. Slightly.
10 is bold. With WVU, Boise, Pitt, and a bad OL with no depth, I put the O/U at 8.5.
As you say the leap from the 8 inferiors/2 comps he faces on the schedule, up to the UF/Clemson level, is going to be a big one.
What's worse, nobody showing up or 6 people showing up?
