FSU recruiting

Great thread, lots of in depth opinions and unique insight we haven’t seen before elsewhere. Really makes a lot of sense seeing as how we’re only a short 4 months from signing day and not a single game has been played yet.

I don’t believe FSU is w/o talent, i think that the ACC isn’t overall as weak anymore and they dont have ELITE talent like they use to. The highly rated guys are behind the curve because they’ve been poorly developed.

Recruiting wise, this is a nice bump class for them so far but their issue is the heart of there current class, the OL, won’t be in position to really help until about 2024. Unless they have a wiz of an OL coach, they’re going to struggle upfront for the next few seasons

 

All their best recruits over the past few years are cornerbacks. Other than that, the rest of their class is pretty pedestrian, especially at the skill positions.

What good is a great recruiting class when they cancel their season due to Covid-21 post 100 point loss in Clemson. Once a coward coach always a coward coach..and if they finish out their 6 win season we will hand them a 40 point loss….but I doubt they will. They will come up with some BS excuse to duck their tough games this year. Rest assured Dabo has it in for Norvell this year…and that game is going to be a new form of ugly.

I agree about the class being pretty good. But it still averages less than a .90 average score which is above average and not great though long way to go so could go higher.

What I do see is a team with decreasing talent. Since we rate and judge recruiting based on stars it’s fair to use the team talent index to judge a teams talent. Apples to applies (whether you put any stake in it is another matter).

Here is fsu team talent composite with total 5 stars on the roster over the past several years:


2016. 4th most talented roster with 7 5 stars
2017. 5th most talented roster 10 5 stars
2018. 5th most talented roster 7 5 stars
2019. 6th most talented roster 5 5 stars
2020. 16th most talented roster 2 five stars
2021. Ranking Released later this month, zero 5 stars

16th isn’t bad it’s actually pretty good but even with all the talent they’ve had recently the team has been bad to average. In the ACC one can compete and beat anyone outside of Clemson with top 20 talent. The conference stinks. But fsu talent, even with Norvell, is still trending down and his coaching and program management (issues with team leaders like Wilson, terry quitting the team) still are not proven to me. They were flat out putrid last year. And I loved every minute of it. Lol


they will need to have several classes in a row probably stronger than the recruiting class they are putting together for this year to become relevant outside of the ACC.

FSU will always be a school with no morals but last year was the crown jewel of their scumbaggery. They flat out used Covid to skip out on any average team rather than getting the beat down. No other way to call it…they QUIT. They’re quitters and will never live that down. Any time you have to smell the breath coming out of a Noles mouth just tell them their team is a bunch of quitters…they usually have little defense since it was so obvious.

Their players know their coaches and ad didn’t believe in them enough to put them on the field. I mean really there is tens of millions of cases of Covid now and they bailed out because one third string offensive lineman tested positive for Clemson…I bet half of that school is walking around infected with something right now…Covid, Chlymidia, Syphillis, Lyme disease, montezumas revenge…they’re a dirty bunch in more ways than one.

 

You know I keep seeing people praising FSU for their class but I do believe that if UF had the exact same class right now very few people on this board would be happy. And the one that would be loudest about their displeasure would likely be the same that are currently praising Norvell. Their class currently has 10 3 stars and will likely end up in the 12-18 range. On the other hand UF will most likely finish 12th or better.
