Yeah. He was a giver. Great trial lawyer etc. Rub was his run ins with the Fla Bar re ethics issues, hence the source of many being upset that they named the law school after him. I was among those who disapproved. Old news. RIP.
Well may he rest in peace. I went to law school with his daughter Mercy and son-in-law Ross. Both awesome people. We would eat Thanksgiving dinner together during finals. God bless his family.

His daughter and future son-in-law were in my 1L section and graduating class. Haven't seen the since the day we graduated but remember them as generally nice people. Big torts is a dirty business. Folks are either gonna love you or hate you. Politics will invariably be involved, and politics is also a dirty business. Two dirty businesses don't make a clean one. I'm thankful for his generosity to my alma mater. The gossipy stuff is meaningless to me. RIP Fred.
