Franks struggled, but can we stop saying he was "outplayed" by Williams?

    Inside your head.
I don't know if Williams is that good or our secondary is that bad but his receivers were way too open. Franks isn't playing well enough to be larking up and down the stands and jawing with the crowd while his team is struggling. I wonder where the silly grin would be if we had lost or does he know the difference?

Williams was certainly luckier than Franks tonight... but this was also his first start..

Franks should be considered a vet at this point... he needs to get it together...

    A combination of both...

Wilson was likely a little rusty... Dean and Burney are still somewhat inexperienced...

But we can’t forget that Miami has talent..

Miami’s fanbase pisses me off more than anybody...

But their players earned my respect today... especially at QB and WR

Williams fumbled the ball a gazillion times and was fortunate that EVERY fumble of his gazillion fumbles was recovered by his own guys!!!!!! He put on a clinic of how to fumble a football!!!!!

He had a lot of help from our Dline. They all should get a game ball. Saved our bacon tonight.

Well duh!! Everyone questioned Miami's HBC why he would start a RS freshman, but I think by now we know why. For all we know, this kid ends up being a Heisman candidate ain a couple of years.

Special teams had more to do with who won and lost than either QB. It’s not good football when you’re penalty yards exceed your rushing yards.

Franks seems to play better after he has been criticized, so why not keep criticizing him?

The fact that we are even having this discussion says all you need to know about Franks.

Been saying it all offseason. He’s going to have to show that all this hype is deserved before I’m convinced he is the right guy. Huge fail so far.

The biggest concern I would have is the unbelievable interception at the end of the game. I was almost shocked that he made that throw. Otherwise I would say he had a shaky but overall good game.

Franks had 3 turnovers. That can’t happen.

The fumble on their 7 is inexcusable. That was not on Perine.

I have no idea about Williams and what he will be other than to say he isn’t ready yet. How are you to evaluate a kid based on screen passes and 2 yard routes? He fumbled like a dozen times, had the same number of delay of game penalties or had to blow timeouts. Yes he didn’t make the boneheaded INT but other than that who knows. He also didn’t throw the ball past five yards except on rare instances when they were down and had no other choice.

Don't want to sound like I'm bashing Franks, but over half of his passing yards came on two completions, the 66-yard spectacular catch and run by Kadarius Toney and the 65-yard reception by Josh Hammond. Both plays were also major factors in the yards per play. At this point I'm just hoping that yesterday's game was a one off and that Franks will return to the form that he had shown against FSU and Michigan last season. As far as the 10 sacks are concerned rather than the being the fault of the Miami QB it was much more attributable to Miami's inexperienced offensive line and the play of the Gator's defense especially Zuniga and Greenard, most of whom will be playing in the NFL next year.

I personally don’t have a problem with it, I think an argument could be made that he did especially considering the early stage of his career, facing our d-line and on a national stage.

I believe it was an option mesh that was not executed well. I believe Franks was pulling the ball out and was going to option pass the ball to a receiver in the left flat. If i am right, the fumble was on both of them.
