And fewer reps in practice which is where it would slow down his development.
I sure liked Feleipe and will always appreciate him being our starting QB. I sure wish him the best. I’ll always consider him as a Gator!
All the best to the young man. Hope he gets drafted or at least doesn't end up at a rival. Baseball options also.
Will always remember him leading us to a 10 win season and finally putting a beat down on Michigan. And of course that epic last second win over the Vols will be replayed before every UF/UT game.
Felipe Franks rolled Michigan in the Peach Bowl. Can’t forget that!
I think he'll want to go somewhere they need an experienced, strong QB transfer. Someplace like the SOW though that would be unimaginable. Another year or two at college level will serve him well.
I wish him the best but it’s the Trask/Emory show now
Okay SOW would not be a good choice for not only the obvious reasons but a QB could get killed with the line they have.
FWIW, he definitely should not enter the draft this year. Go to another school or mid-major put up big numbers then enter next year.
Best wishes to Feleipe!
Houston, Texas Tech... if he goes to either of those, I’ll still root for him. And the only Rival I see needing a QB next year is LSU. I cannot root for him for that year if he goes there.
I am happy to hear that he is transferring, great young man, played his heart out. But the writing is on the wall.
Franks gave us all he had and left it all out on the field... I appreciate what he did for Gator Nation
I can’t believe he is leaving. Surprised.
You never knows what's really in a good Gator's heart....
Franks knows that his injury was going to keep him out of spring practice....so, IF he stayed, there would be a bit of a problem ...since Trask has performed so well, and Emory is coming along just fine, he would have one stiff competition ahead of him....
I'll always wish him the best...he's forever a Gator!!
Will he get a waiver? That would be kind of a dick move to go to our annual rival.
Just me speculating
He’s a grad transfer right?
Don't think so. Myles Brennan, Burrows' backup and likely starter next year was a 4 star out of high school and next season will have played three years at LSU and even more significantly will have had a year of a experience in LSU's current offense. Cannot see Feliepe transferring anywhere unless he will be virtually guaranteed to start.
I had that same thought, I wonder how he feels about mcelwain though after seeing how much he improved under Mullen
Thanks Felipe. Loved your all-out effort. We'll never forget the Heave to Cleve. Classy and gracious goodbye message. Best of luck to you, always a Gator.
