In the age of Trump, Fox News has shed the last vestiges of objective journalism. They clear stories with the WH, and spike news that make Trump look bad - one of their reporters was the 1st on the Stormy Daniels story but was not allowed to report it. In turn, Trump hires former Fox personalities for WH and administration jobs so the feedback between the administration and Fox flows both ways . He gets policy ideas from Fox and Friends and they are careful to offer nothing but support for the President. Is it any wonder that regular viewers of Fox are less informed about current events than people who didn't follow the news at all.

A Rigorous Scientific Look Into The 'Fox News Effect'

A good read on the issue by Jane Mayer in The New Yorker

The Making of the Fox News White House
After members of the press pool got out of vans and headed over to where the President was about to speak, they noticed that Sean Hannity, the Fox News host, was already on location. Unlike them, he hadn’t been confined by the Secret Service, and was mingling with Administration officials, at one point hugging Kirstjen Nielsen, the Secretary of Homeland Security. The pool report noted that Hannity was seen “huddling” with the White House communications director, Bill Shine. After the photo op, Hannity had an exclusive on-air interview with Trump. Politico later reported that it was Hannity’s seventh interview with the President, and Fox’s forty-second. Since then, Trump has given Fox two more. He has granted only ten to the three other main television networks combined, and none to CNN, which he denounces as “fake news.” Hannity was treated in Texas like a member of the Administration because he virtually is one.

Joe Peyronnin, a professor of journalism at N.Y.U., was an early president of Fox News, in the mid-nineties. “I’ve never seen anything like it before,” he says of Fox. “It’s as if the President had his own press organization. It’s not healthy.”

The Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin, another conservative Never Trumper, used to appear on the network, but wouldn’t do so now. “Fox was begun as a good-faith effort to counter bias, but it’s morphed into something that is not even news,” she says. “It’s simply a mouthpiece for the President, repeating what the President says, no matter how false or contradictory.” The feedback loop is so strong, she notes, that Trump “will even pick up an error made by Fox,” as when he promoted on Twitter a bogus Fox story claiming that South Africa was “seizing land from white farmers.” Rubin told me, “It’s funny that Bill Shine went over to the White House. He could have stayed in his old job. The only difference is payroll.”

Roger Ailes is claimed to have given Trump debate questions in advance. Remember the uproar from the right when it turned out Donna Brazile did the same for Clinton? Don't hear much from them about this.

This is not the same FACT CHECK: Donna Brazile Leaves CNN After Leaks Reveal Campaign Collusion
Donna Brazile was fired from CNN after leaked e-mails suggested she used her position to pass information to the Clinton campaign about upcoming appearances.
On 31 October 2016, Democratic National Committee (DNC) interim chair Donna Brazile was fired from her position as a political commentator at CNN over e-mail leaks suggesting she had improperly supplied Hillary Clinton’s campaign with advance knowledge of questions to be posed to her during Democratic campaign events hosted by the news network.

According to Politico, CNN released a statement asserting the network had “accepted” Brazile’s resignation on 14 October 2016. CNN stated that they were “completely uncomfortable” with the content of e-mails seemingly showing she had obtained information in advance about questions to be posed at CNN town hall and debate events:

Fox News CEO Roger Ailes tipped off Trump about a 2016 debate question, report claims — the same thing he attacked Hillary Clinton and CNN for
A Fox News spokeswoman directed Business Insider to a denial of the allegations it issued to the New Yorker, and to on-the-record comments by Kelly, where she said that Ailes "did not oversee" her preparation for the debate, and that she and others "wrote our own questions."

During the encounter, Megyn Kelly confronted Trump with his past statements on women, saying: ""You've called women you don't like, 'fat pigs,' 'dogs,' 'slobs,' and 'disgusting animals."

Trump interrupted her with a joke: "Only Rosie O'Donnell." The audience laughed and cheered.

Your comparing what actually happen with Donna Brazile, with someone saying it may have happened with Trump. What a joke, you guys hate Trump so bad you'll believe anything

Between Hannity joining Trump at the Hanoi summit and all of the retweets of Fox and Friends in the morning, Fox News has officially become state run tv.

Actually, it’s considered as neutral as The Hill, The Wall Street Journal andmore nuetral that the New York Post. Your implication is that they are not trustworthy, if so then I guess everything the Wall Street Journal prints is horsesh** as well.

How biased is your news source? You probably won’t agree with this chart

Because the free market system does such an economically efficient and cost efficient way of taking care of a fundamental human need. It's efficient for the profiteers, that's for gosh darn sure.

If you know the bias, is it really a bias at all?

I spent 2 hours yesterday listening to folks talk about scraping a metric b/c the old metric has a known bias against women. The bias has been quantified. They admitted that only time will tell with the new metric. Seems stupid to me. If all your clocks (ours are, including in our cars) are 5 minutes fast, they are perfectly informative.

The "human need" is a business, not a right, with real people that have to get paid for their services... nothing is free.

The problem is a lot of people who watch Fox News don't believe it's biased, so what you or I think may protects us from the bias, but not them.

There needs to be a degree of separation between the legitimate press and the political figures they cover. Otherwise we can just do away with the press and get our news from official news releases, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and Trump's tweets. It's not healthy.

The New Yorker scores far more towards neutral than Fox. TNY Skews left vs FOX's Hyper-partisan. And TNY's complex analysis vs Fox's Propaganda. The scores are pinned to the top of the TH home page. Check it out. You are wrong.

That's fine but FOX is really the only right of center organization that you can watch on cable. They also bang on Trump some. CNN bangs on Trump 24 hours a day. Never a positive word on the President. MSNBC bangs on Trump 24 hours a day. Never a positive word. So, the one right outlet on cable that comes with your package is getting ousted. It's BS.

We were comparing Fox (the pot) and The New Yorker (kettle) weren't t we? Regardless, there are a good many things to bang on Trump for. Before Trump was elected Fox banged on Obama 24 hours a day for things like saying he would talk to N. Korea and wearing a tan suit. Yep, Fair and Balanced. There are reasons why Fox is scored as hyper partisan propaganda by objective reviewers.
