Sasse has been on the job for just a few weeks and already he has to “get a LOT better and fast”.

Uh, okay. And I’m sure you are basing this on a completely
unbiased opinion. Please let us know how Sasse progresses.

hate to break it to you but when you’re paid a cool mil and we’ve been told he was the bestest applicant ever we kind of expect our university president to be good at the simple shit. Like talking to people… but sure I’m biased. The senate meeting was recorded go listen for yourself

The idea that smart kids arent or cant be sports fans is often promoted on Swamp Gas and other sites as another excuse for the Gators recent sports struggles/lack of fan support. Just nonsense IMO.

I really think you could say UF has been “toxic” politically since the 70’s. In the 80’s you could walk across the Plaza and find everything from hard-core Commies to the Krishna’s to Brother Jed. As a libertarian I loved every minute of it. Kind of the reason to go to college and take in differing viewpoints.

And Swampbabe, being called a “Hooer” as Jed would pronounce is a badge of honor you should proudly display!

Sasse isn't talking to the Alligator. That's not good.

Paging Dr. Sasse… - The Independent Florida Alligator

Yeah he hasn’t tweeted once since coming on board.
He hasn’t been seen with the students.
He hasn’t been seen with the faculty.
He hasn’t published anything in regards to the crazy legislation
He hasn’t done an op Ed anywhere that I know of

I am going to the law school graduation in May, will be interesting to se if he’s there.

listen - I have a close friend working inside the provosts office. No one has an effing clue where this guy is. The rumor is he is operating out of the baseball stadium. Even the provost has only spoken to him twice and the guy in charge of all of ufs online portfolio hasn’t spoken to him once. He has also not met with dean of the grad school.

the guy is legit Mia. It is really strange. It’s like the opposite of his job.

Your point is valid, but do students read that anymore? When my wife and I went to school in the early 90s, students read it. My daughter recently graduated in the Fall of 2022 says not so much anymore.

He doesn’t have time to talk to The Independent Alligator. He’s too busy staring at his phone, waiting for DeSantis to call like a girl waiting for that boy she likes to ask her to the prom.

All hate aside - like no politics, just from a “I work here” perspective and have for a long time… this is really really weird.

I am sure if someone sent a UV light up DeSantis' fat arse, you would find Sasse stuck up there somewhere.

Worse yet, I am sure that hate mongering bigot is off with the Board of Naz-ees, plotting the destruction of UF as an institution of higher learning. Looking for the series of steps necessary to ensure that they kill off everything on campus that "offends the religious right" from free speech to free thought to LGBTQ+ studies to Hillel to the Hari Krishna's.

I find this weird, but I find your reaction knee jerk & inappropriate & I hope you are way off the mark. We don't know much about Sasse's real views. So, your pt is he is the most honest politician in history?

OT: I was elected little sister coordinator of my fraternity and tasked with reviving our sadly neglected little sister program. I spent the first two weeks going to every house on Sorority Row where we had a little sister at dinnertime and presenting each of them with a bouquet of flowers. It was the oddest combination of feelings...abject terror along with the elation of like being in a series of bakeries with the most incredible desserts ever.

My hope is that Glover is running things.
If so, we are probably in much more capable hands.

Thanks for your insider perspective. I taught at UF 09-12, not to mention GTA work the years prior. I appreciate hearing from the boots on the ground.
