I agree and I disagree. It definitely seems like he’s just going to go where he can play, and if Dan doesn’t let him play, he won’t be a Gator for long.
Do you really think if Grimes stayed he would have improved his stock in this offense? I think it would be the same result, UDFA.
Our leading receiver is on pace for a 40 catch season. You really think Grimes could have increased his value? How so? By his blocking skills?
That’s sorta the problem hoss. He hasn’t been put in a position as of yet , despite what everyone knows is what, to be able to lead the team. Never seen a back up qb lead a team fwiw
I really don’t understand why Richardson would say that after Dan gave him the game. Maybe he thinks he’s back on the bench again next week and this was only a 1 game thing?
We got lucky to have Kyle and the ONLY reason he started playing was due to the injury of another qb. But I still give him a pass on that. Even TT stated AR needs to see the field more. If it's not broke, don't fix it. But this team is shattered Dan. I really hope we do not beat UG because if we did, it would give us false hope and things would still be the same. I am no coach but just 2 changes I know would improve us a lot. A new DC and starting AR. That's it coach!
Ha, I hear you. But you yourself should be thinking how to better your sitch. I’m sure you do. Why not AR? Having said that, everyone should pump the brakes. Love AR, hope he stays. If not, I’ll root for him. A competent organization will weather labor problems. And THAT is the actual issue.
Agreed, and point taken. But you saw as much as I did that literally the same play was devastating. I also saw players not willing to smash mouth that play. And as a low level player myself, I saw guys voluntarily taking themselves out of plays (I was blocked, what could I do??) I am willing to give 21 to the O. 7 is non-debatable. But the other 14? You don’t just assume a TD because of the poor “luck.” A real D mitigates. In this case, it was simply a matter of time. And that still leaves another 28.
There is nothing wrong with having an ego; an ego makes you want to be the best. Mullen thinks he is smarter than everyone, and won't listen or adjust. THAT is a problem.
It feels like the wheels are coming off fast. Faster than id expect considering where we were the last couple of years. But the truth is, they are coming off this fast because we have a stubborn coach that won't fix the obvious. That's making this 1,000 times worse. We were all surprised last year when the defense was historically bad but no one was calling for Mullen's head. The decision to stick with Grantham this year and the rotten fruit it has borne is why we are where we are. And that's only been further exacerbated by Mullen's decision to stick with EJ. What a mess we are in! But if Dan grows...
Said this a couple of weeks ago, got attacked badly. Who would stick around when you know you're the best player at your position but is forced to wait and other teams are begging you? Get real. We, or whoever, wil have AR in 2022, then he's going pro if not injured
