Yeah...it was a gruesome injury. The Redskins QB's are pretty snake bit. Theismann and Smith....throw in RGIII also.

The Redskins just have really bad luck. Two weeks after Alex Smith got injured, Colt McCoy also broke his leg and the Redskins were down to their third string QB.

Once they change their team name their bad luck will dissipate. Like building your house on a burial ground

Thanks for sharing this story. I had no idea about the severity of his injury. Glad his doctors could save his life and not have to amputate his leg. Stories like this help keep things in perspective for all of us.

    Ho. ly. shit...

    The pics are absolutely brutal.

How on earth is he even thinking about "coming back" to play FB???

Good Lord man! Cut your losses, count your blessings, let your FB legacy be what it is, and savor the extra life you've been blessed to live...

Going back to the gridiron after that???

    SMDH...

Yeah, he could have bled to death. Having his blood moving to, um, more valuable places meant it wasn't going out the injury.

Good job. I wonder where I could get one of those "sudden blood re-directors". You know, just in case I have one of those kinds of injuries.
