Continuing this “conversation” is pointless. You continue to beat your drum.... failing to even acknowledge or address any counter points.

I’ve commented several times about why we are in the position we are.
But you just keep with the anti-White mantra, now suggesting "we should get better players". That is a fantastic idea, but one that ignores the fact that we recently have done exactly that... and continue to do so.

It also ignores the reasons we initially perhaps did not, and the various reasons we do not have a "Gafford" playing in our front court right now.... reasons I detailed in prior posts.

As to your question... what country Gaffford is from... well, USA! Can you guess what state the Razorbacks center may be from? I'll give ya hint. . . It starts with "Ar" and ends with "Kansas".

    Anyway, Go Gators!

I just have to say, again, how amazed I am at the patience folks have for this guy, when, in football, we'd want his head on a platter yesterday.

What did you expect against the #3 team? The final score was not indicative of the team's performance. Our guys were ready to play. If the Locke three goes down, this game may have had a different outcome. Do you post after wins?

I came back to this thread expecting the OP to post all the videos of CMW talking during the timeouts in this game.:emoji_upside_down:

I'm not referring to tonight, specifically. I'm referring to the head-scratching losses we've seen over the past 2 seasons.

And you're probably right, I should avoid this forum. At least until a new coach is hired.

Did you watch the game? It underscored everything I have pointed out and I might add what many other posters have pointed out. This is not about my proving MY POINT. This is about expressing an undeniable fact. Mike White is not recruiting the right people for the program to compete in the SEC PERIOD. Is he recruiting outstanding student athletes. Yes. So does Kansas, Duke and Kentucky. Is he recruiting above average swing players and ball handlers? Yes. But it has not made a difference!!!

    2018 6'5", 6'5", 6'2"
    2017 6'8" (not playing, transferring), 6'8" (not playing), 6'6", 6'3"
2016 6'10" (not playing), 6'3" (not on team), 6'8" (plays sparingly)

Why is the graphic so hard to interpret? 6 of the 10 players recruited by White were 6'6" or smaller. Of the 4 that were taller only one was 6'10". The other three don't even play either because of injuries or because they really are not SEC ready.

He inherited Hayes 6'9" and Stone 6'8" Neither of them lead any any statistical category in the SEC despite being seniors. So arguably the trend of getting no production with bigs started with Billy's last recruiting class.

If you go to SEC basketball stats you will see the plethora of teams in the SEC who have bigs 6'9" and up who are outperforming ours. Some of these teams haven't even won SEC championships let alone national championships and yet they are beating us to these productive players. THERE IS NO REASON FOR THIS OTHER THAN A DEFICIENCY IN THE RECRUITING ASPECTS OF OUR PROGRAM!!!!! If you don't see this then you too are the problem!!!

I cant figure out why this is hard to comprehend . . .

In those classes he recruited bigs. . . . Bassett, Gak and Stokes. As you have pointed out . . .none of those are top-tier bigs in the conference. At least not right now. And all three have been stalled by injury. . . making matters even worse.

But as to your point about not having top tier bigs . . . I AGREE. Let me repeat that. . . I AGREE!!!!!!!

My point is, we should EXPECT some transition with a new coach. And for us . . . it is coming now, when those first two classes would be relied upon as upper class men. And unless landing the elite bigs... it is a time those players would be moving into major roles. Instead. . . we are getting very little production there, combined with little production from the seniors.

Would White have preferred to add better players in his initial recruiting classes? YES!!!!! Take a look at who he was going after and missed on. Tyler Cook comes to mind. But he was a new and unproven coach, replacing a legend . . . and had ZERO inroads and relationships established with the type of players you, me and he all wish he landed.

But he didn't. And you kinda have to move on from that reality at some point. We are what we are.

But your overriding concerns should be mitigated by his more recent classes, and the abilities he has shown on the trail when given the needed time.

    Does this clarify my position?
