It's been the only place we've gotten good players in a while. Really shocking how bad our HS recruiting has been of late. And we should be recruiting out west more.

Ordalys Cordova transferred to the College of Central Florida in Ocala and is a superstar. I understand pitching at that level is nothing like the SEC, but she hit .480 this year with 20 HR and 100 RBI, plus made on 4 errors at SS ono a team that was ranked in the Top 10 in the nation.
E.C. Taylor is the starting second baseman for Pitt, Romanello is starting at either San Diego St. or San Jose State, I think.
And you forgot Rylee Trlicek in the 2019 class. She was the #3 rated pitcher in that nation at the time and when Covid ended 202 she had gotten almost as many innings as Lugo, way more than Hightower and had beaten several ranked teams - Arizona, Northwestern, Auburn twice, etc. She has a ton of ability and potential, but apparently Hightower outworked her in the off season. I expect her to be a factor next year.

Are those lower numbers than other schools? Doesn’t seem very high, especially fro a championship program like this and it’s not like UF is cheap.

    That's the NCAA max limit.

The only only single dimly lit flickering light at the end of the crumbling tunnel is us not having to face Oklahoma at the WCWS. Watching them playing against Washington's elite Olympic-bound pitcher, their batting line-up is too deep and too talented to shutdown. Even if our pitchers were pitching lights-out, I could not see us outscoring them. As for the Georgia series, I am still in complete shock we scored zero runs against Georgia. How does Oklahoma recruit so many elite hitters every year? Their facilities do not look that impressive. Compared to the Big 12, SEC softball has by far the best and newest facilities, by far the greatest fan support and highest attendance, financial support and then there's the weather. And Gasso is still out recruiting the rest of the country the best of the best softball players from California.

Far too many called third strikeouts. A definitive lack of power. Three or four “hitters” and the rest are baggage who occasionally come through.
I noticed that UGA had several tall, lanky athletic hitters that were able to launch the ball with aggressive swings. Six HR’s in 2 games and we couldn’t even get a run in.
Hitting philosophy, recruiting and aggression all need an overhaul. The Gators are getting left behind in the SEC despite claiming the regular season title. When in came to the SEC tourney title game and today, we couldn’t plate a run, which is very telling, IMO.

There appears to be a ton of misses with recruiting the past 2-3 years and that's cooled the program down a bit since winning 2 national titles and nearly winning a 3rd in 2017.

IMO plain is not as elite as she is made out to be. Alvelo was better than her. She’s pitching for Australia not USA. She wouldn’t even make the USA team.

NCAA rules only allow baseball programs 11.7 scholarships and softball programs 12 scholarships to apportion among all the players on their roster. Very unfair, but that's the way it is.

We're getting left behind in a year we won the conference? Add in we should be better next year. And we have insane recruiting lined up next 3 years.

There have clearly been holes and misses in the recruiting of late. That is painfully obvious. And we played very poorly this weekend.
But a team that won the SEC and was a #4 national seed isn't getting left behind

Totally Agree. And this year's co-champ Arkansas just got bounced by Arizona. Unless Missouri comes back against James Madison, the SEC will only have 2 teams in the WCWS - Bama & UGA. And that's after having 5 of the Top 8 seeds.

I think Mizzou will be fine. But just imo Georgia would’ve beat Arizona or FSU had they been matched with them the way they were playing. Arkansas has always been suspect to me since they lost all the tougher games they played.

Has Walton said anything post game? I’m curious to hear his thoughts.
