She's now got a complete set of World Gymnastics Championships medals.

Gator sophomore Leanne Wong joined the U.S. at the top of the 2022 World Gymnastics Championships awards podium Tuesday to raise their team gold medals.

Last year, Wong won World Championships all-around silver and floor exercise bronze in an all-around and apparatus only event.

The U.S. claimed its sixth consecutive World Championships team gold Tuesday evening in Liverpool. The string of World team golds started in 2011 and continued in the 2014, 2015, 2018, 2019 and now 2022 events.

The team final has three competitors on each apparatus, with all scores counting toward the total. Wong turned in a 13.766 on uneven bars as the U.S. turned in the day's high total of 42.199 on the event.

The U.S. also led the eight-team final on vault (43.133) and floor exercise (41.833) with its balance beam total (39.399) ranking third for the day. U.S. turned in a final total 166.564 and was joined on the award's podium by event host Great Britain (163.363) and Canada (160.563).

Is there anyone who can tell a gymnastics novice why Trinity is not on Team USA in a simple, dumbed down manner please? Thanks in advance.

Oh and asking for a friend. :D

Well that settles it. Trinity can do whatever she wants imo. Just happy to have her for one more year in O&B!

The good news is if Trinity is injury free, she will likely go back to Elite after the UF 2023 season to start preparation to compete for Paris 2024. I love that Trinity has put her collegiate career first and I couldn't be prouder that she chose to give UF a finishing 5th year.

BTW, Leanne wasn't a significant factor in Liverpool. She received a Team Gold medal. If she has tweaked her ankle again, she needs to get rest and treatment so she will be ready for the 23 season.
