the only way I see it could possibly happen is two big 10 teams both ahead of us and both not in the playoffs. Ohio state is going to get into the playoffs and Penn State is behind us right now without any more games to play. So it's technically possible but do you really see that happening? Just to add another wrinkle into the mix we would also have to miss the sugar bowl in that scenario which is likely but just makes the Cotton bowl that much less likely

Those people are off base. For Florida to get the Cotton something really weird would have to happen, like Penn State jumping back over us for no particular reason.

Even if this Pac 12 title game result holds, and Oregon and Utah somehow both end up ahead of us it doesn't affect the OB because of the conference tie ins.

The more Oregon beats up on Utah, the better.

Georgia has more experience in big games. I see LSU disappearing in this game.

If Clemson, UGA, Baylor, and Wisconsin all get blown out tomorrow...

    Extremely unlikely, but who’s #4?

Clemson with a 60+ SOS? Could Oregon jump 9 spots!?

    Or...

If all plays out, by the stroke of midnight, UF will be ranked 6th in the CFP.

    OSU beats Wisky
    LSU beats UGA
    Clemson beats UVA
Big12 doesn't matter, winner is in.

    CFP Ranking:
    1 OSU/LSU undefeated (ATL)
    2 LSU/OSU undefeated (Glendale)
    3 Clemson undefeated (Glendale)
    4 OKLA/Baylor 1 loss Con Champ (ATL)

    5 UGA 2 loss/beat UF (Sugar)
6 FLORIDA 2 loss to 1/2 LSU and 5 UGA (Orange)

*IF UGA beats LSU, that is the game changer.....
    Than:

    CFP Ranking:
    1 OSU (ATL)
    2 Clemson (Gendale)
    3 UGA (Glendale)
    4 LSU (ATL)
    5 OKLA/Baylor (Sugar)
    6 FLORIDA (Sugar)

Why I've always liked a 6 team playoff scenario... ONE MORE GAME played next week after final standings. Give #1 and #2 a bye.
    #6 vs #3 at #3 home stadium
    #5 vs #4 at #4 home stadium..
Then selection committee can let winners play #1 and #2 and continue playoff and match teams to their bowl affiliations..
One more exciting game, one more opportunity for upsets, one more game for college football fans to enjoy a "meaningful game".

    Ok beats Baylor
    And....
    Virginia beats Clemson.

Then we are in imo. Of course all of those are happening except the last one.

Utah’s poor showing has to drop them 6/7 spots.

Oregon’s somewhat impressive showing against a overrated team should move them to 10. Since the pack 12 is now out of the college football playoff race there will be nothing dramatic or crazy the committee can do with Oregon maybe they will finish at 10 but there was no way they should be ahead of us

Is it right to let them in over us despite a loss to a 4-8 team at home?
