Breaking story …. The Fed is warning Trump that his dumb ass policies are putting the us at risk of high inflation and high unemployment… a scenario where they have limited options. The Fed announcement is “sending a shot across the bow to the administration, saying essentially if you read between the lines, ‘Your policies are leading to higher inflation, higher unemployment,’” said David Kelly, chief global strategist at JPMorgan Asset Management, in a CNBC “Power Lunch interview. “This is a somewhat hawkish statement. It says, ‘We are not going to be in any hurry to cut rates because honestly there are risks to both sides of our mandate here and we are not sure which way we should be playing this.’” S&P 500 gives up gain as Fed flags stagflation risk, traders await Powell comments: Live updates
Looks like thanks to idiot Trump and moron Bessent, the old addage of "sell in May and go away" is BACK BABY.
So why was I hearing and posting about the coming stagflation long before Trump was elected if it's all Trump's fault? Recession is more likely than high inflation imo. Democracies peter out after ~250 years as Plato noticed. Too many laws, gov't becomes too big and transactional. Politicians promise lots of goodies to get elected with little thought on how to pay for things. Treaties and alliances begin to make less sense. Debt piles up. Freedom declines. What is needed is a process known as cratometamorphosis, where everything is up in the air and everything is up for grabs, both at a national and international level. That's what Trump is all about, tossing hand grenades at treaties and alliances and restructuring relationships in ways that benefit us and our new allies.
My personal financial manager is a magaturd, but generally nice and a good balance for me even through our spirited debates. We've worked well together for a decade and a half but we have never been further apart about what to do in this economy.
The whole world knows that we're still living in Biden's policies... until Trump gets his Big Beautiful Bill signed into law.
