Man, this may be Walton's weakest pitching staff in a long time. Losing Rocha was a huge blow.

Gonna need the offense to step it up this season.

Boy, Tim has not recruited well the last three years. This team is going to be one of his worst teams in years. The pitching and hitting is weak. Long season ahead.

The one thing I thought we could count on is great fielding. Lois of mistakes in the field in both games. This is a very uncharacterstic Gator softball team. The body language and leadership was not good.

    The team looks disheartened.

Close the door on Roberts. It is season #4, and she still can't hit. I'd rather see Cottrill get a majority of chances behind the dish especially knowing we have to score more this year with our mediocre pitching staff.

I was honestly shocked at the final score. We really, really miss Rocha. She was able to coach up pitchers who necessarily weren’t highly recruited and turn them into superstars.

And people say we’re a young team, but we have a lot of juniors and seniors in the starting line up.

Hopefully we can learn from this loss or else it’s going to be a long year.

Losing Rocha hurt, but recruiting has been relatively down the last few years.
And the last of that high level talent, Barnhill and Lorenz, are now gone.
Many of us warned that this year could be a struggle. Having said that, it is crazy early, all it would take is one of the pitchers growing into the role over the next month or 2 and things might be ok.

FSU just beat Bama twice this weekend as well. Don’t get how they have out recruited us over last few seasons with the dump of a facility they play in.

The freshman Trilicek isn’t better than Lugo and crew?

Time to get over Coach Rocha. It was her decision to go back home. That isn't the issue. The ones in the circle still have to execute the pitches. We just haven't landed the type of talent we have in the past. And even Coach Rocha was part of the staff that recruited those currently on the pitching staff.

Her bat speed is so slow. Long ago they should have tried shortening her swing.

"Hopefully we can learn from this loss or else it’s going to be a long year." What "we" have learned from this weekend so far is going to make the season seem even longer because nothing can be done to solve the problems.

I hope Cotrill is better behind the plate than she showed yesterday. Roberts was much more steady behind the plate. Agree her bat speed was slow though.
