Indeed. Which really makes Trump supporters who support e-verify worse; you know the type of things that need to be done to regulate illegal immigration ...... but you cast your votes for a fake strongman who just indulges in cosplay and racist performative theater. And you don't utter a peep as he fails again.

We can literally watch his administration fail yet again to regulate the problem, much less propose a solution, even as we (and you) know some or most of the (demand driven) measures that need to be taken ..... and yet we you continue to support this miserable charade.

Clearly, solving the problem doesn't matter anywhere near as much as having a political football. Who knows though - maybe they've at least stopped eating the dogs?

You Trump lovers say the funniest things.

Donald Trump's direct paternal ancestor, Friedrich Trump, immigrated to the United States in 1885/1905. Specifically, Friedrich Trump emigrated from Kallstadt, Palatinate (then part of the Kingdom of Bavaria) at age 16 in 1885. While Friedrich's wife, Elisabeth Christ, immigrated in 1902.

“FBI field offices around the country have been ordered to assign significantly more agents to immigration enforcement, a dramatic shift in federal law enforcement priorities ”

FBI field offices ordered to shift agents to immigration crackdown

“But do we really want to take FBI teams off investigations of violent jihadist or homegrown terrorists to target illegal immigrants with minor offenses? Do we want the FBI to stop the next Boston bomber, or deport more low-level offenders?”

Boston FBI agents assist with immigration enforcement

Really, how many illegal immigrants have crossed the border in the last year compared to the last year in the Biden administration? You said "propose a solution", it looks like he enacted a solution. Biden said he needed new legislation and more money but Trump did it with the same money and no new legislation.

My company has been using e verify over 5 different administrations so it isn't partisan and it was started under the Clinton administration.

Sure he did. How many illegal immigrants has he deported? 10,000? Fewer?

Looks like the USA must currently have 12 million(estimated) illegal immigrants ...... minus the few thousand Trump has removed. Pretty magnificent "solution" right there.

Edit; and of course, you're choosing to ignore the significant drop in border apprehensions for the last several months under the Biden Administration. Convenient ..... but I guess that was part of Trump's magnificent long-term "solution."

You are correct Biden was the problem. How many crossed the border illegally so far in 2025?

    LOL. Trump did this!

Yes, border crossings at the U.S. southern border saw a significant drop towards the end of President Biden's term.

    Key Points:

      • Significant Decrease: Illegal border crossings dropped significantly, with numbers well below the peak seen in late 2023.
      • Lowest in Years: Daily illegal border crossings fell to levels not seen in years, reaching lows of 1,200 to 1,400 per day in November and December of 2024, and dipping even further (below 800 daily crossings) in the early days of President Trump's subsequent term.

I think you meant to say that Trump was the problem?

Weird how he totally FAILED at addressing this issue, isn't it. But then, he knew that so many people would be satisfied with him just using the issue as a political football.

Don't worry though - he'll get it right this time!! (Trust him)

As the Trump administration demands funding for a border wall to stop illegal immigration, a new study finds that for the seventh consecutive year, visa overstays far exceeded unauthorized border crossings.

The report released Wednesday by the Center for Migration Studies of New York finds that from 2016-2017, people who overstayed their visas accounted for 62 percent of the newly undocumented, while 38 percent had crossed a border illegally.

You are embarrassing yourself here. Even your last sentence credit's Trump for the almost 50% drop in illegal crossings.

100 Days of The Most Secure Border in American History | Homeland Security

    • U.S. Customs and Border Protection now has total control of the border.
    • Daily border encounters are down by 93%.
    • Encounters with gotaways – the top threat to public safety – are down by 95%.
    • And migrant crossings are down by 99.99%.

Again, you are embarrassing yourself, what did data from 2016-17 have to do with Trump?

You're embarrassing yourself quoting false statistics from the Trump Administration.

And if daily crossings were at 1,200 under Biden, a drop of 400/day under Trump is pretty inconsequential, isn't it? (Why that amounts to 146,000 people per year. Great job, Trump!!)

    Again, you're embarrassing yourself.

Data from 2016-17 (and before) shows that the scope of the problem obviously included far more than border crossings. And this was clearly known.

That Trump would totally ignore that while he pretended to address the problem is indicative of his (total lack of) desire and ability to solve it. (Weird that he failed that first time, isn't it?)

That someone would see those statistics and how Trump ignored them yet still think he was actually effective at, or even trying to, solve the problem is, well .....embarrassing.

Trump administration halting student visa appointments ahead of "expanded social media vetting" - CBS News

It looks like the Trump administration is doing something about the visa problem as well. Of course, now you will complain about this as well.

Not really. It looks like the Trump Administration is doing close to nothing about the visa overstay problem.

at the end of the 2016 fiscal year .... about 42,000 [students] were suspected to be still in the U.S. among the 1.5 million who were expected to leave in that year.

Overall, about 629,000 foreign visitors who were expected to leave the country in fiscal 2016 were still in the U.S. when the fiscal year ended Sept. 30, out of about 50 million arrivals by air and sea.

Anyone that believes anything from the Trump administration is a fool.

For example, Oklahoma’s article he posted states: “The pause will last "until further guidance is issued" in the next few days.””

Oklahoma, have you seen any further guidance? It’s only been a week since their “few days”…

I bet rubes that fall for this are still expecting his Health Care plan to see the light of day anytime now too.

What a pawn you all have become…

Agree. Our immigration law states that if they claim asylum, they are entitled to a day in court to prove it. The problem is that our system is antiquated and we needed to overhaul that instead of throwing the proud boys out there to round up everyone with a Spanish accent. I believe Mr. Langford worked with both sides to come up with a bill that could have been passed, but your orange god told Mike Johnson to not allow it on the floor. He needed to tap into your fears and it obviously worked.

Obama had them deported back at the border, he never did it without due process if they claimed asylum after getting in. You don't like it? Call your congressman and ask for the Langford bill to be presented and passed.

Giving Trump credit where credit is due he did successfully close the border in 2025 although we shouldn't forget that there was problem will illegal crossings during his first administration albeit not as bad as it was under Biden. Illegal crossings in 2019 were higher than in any of the eight years of the Obama Administration. Trump was able to shutdown the border in 2020 using the Covid pandemic emergency. The problem returned when the emergency was lifted.
