Who decides what "naysaying" is anyway? People should post whatever they want as long as it's not repeating the same crap over and over. They should also not have a persecution complex when their nonsense takes are disagreed with by others.
Looks like Faulkner was promoted to co-offensive coordinator at Georgia in 2023 for all his contributions as QC in Georgia's in 2021-22 title runs, which matches up with Stetson Bennett attributing his success to Faulkner. Looks like he is very good with Qbs
It would be nice to have a legitimate and intense competition for QB in the spring. I don't think we've had one of those in a few years. No one has performed even close to well enough this year to be named heir apparent for the QB job, especially with a new coach. Iron sharpens iron. I hope all the QBs welcome the competition and may the best QB win it.
If Sumrall/Faulkner is half as good as the thinking is here, and when compared to Sleepy Napier, we should be a .500 team next year. It will be breath of fresh air for sure. It will be an eventful 2026.
One concern with Faulkner is he has ambitions to be a head coach and was in the running for some open jobs this year and last year. If he has immediate success here, maybe FSU grabs him after they dump Norvell.
If message boards don't matter, then why was the entirety of national media talking about the "reaction" to the hire more than the hire itself? It does matter, especially when it's a cess pool. Also, maybe we could wait until there is something to complain about? A thread announcing the hire of the OC, met with almost universal applause, doesn't seem like a great time to throw poop on the parade. I think I've made myself clear here. Be critical, but don't beat a dead horse.
Thanks! I actually had looked up the oc the year they won the title and for any intersection during his coaching career, should have gone back one more year
Twitter and YouTube generate far more noise, for good or ill, than message boards. I'm sure we contribute some heft to the conversation, but it's not the early 2000s. It's like thinking college kids are paying attention to Facebook. I guess some people want to complain and some people want to complain that others are complaining. Like I wrote before, I'd like there to be more people here talking to each other and not fewer. It's occasionally messy, but it's both more fun and more like Gator Nation as a whole. So some grace and space wouldn't be amiss. I guess you could argue with that, so you do you, I suppose.
Seriously? If you are successful then folks will copy and steal from you! That is exactly what you want. If nobody wants your coaches, or as we had when BN was fired you have nobody on staff qualified to take the reins, then you have a problem. We want other teams to hate us and come after our players/coaches - that means that they are winning!
