I sure would like to have them!
Florida Football: Early look at Gators’ top 5 targets for 2020 class
Great find. Jak'hi Douglas was in for a visit a few weeks ago. Sounds like an exciting prospect.
1. Demarkcus Bowman, RB Lakeland
2. Marcus Rosemary, WR FT Lauderdale -- great route runner but not the fastest (4.84 40-yard dash)
3. Fred Davis, CD Jacksonville -- Would help DBU --
4. Chantz Williams, DE Orange Park --leaning towards Miami
5. Ja’Khi Douglas, WR Louisiana
Florida had already has commits from the following:
Florida 2020 Football Commits
I've seen his clips. No way he's that slow.
The same about Bowman they say he's 4.54 in the forty... he must have ran that underwater...
I have never been a person.that got excited about 40 times... I believe in football offensive skill positions quickness is more important than speed
I wonder if these are our coaches top 5 must get players. I'll bet Bowman is #1 on the coaches list, but I'm not sure about the rest. We need DTs, and we need big/long 'fast' wide receivers...
Lots to argue on that list. I guess we have to assume guys already committed are not included, cause Manuel, Lee and Dexter would certainly be in that conversation.
Bowman is a no brainer
Douglass is a guy I love. But he is an undersized kid from La, and he may not even be in UF's top 5 at the position....Manuel, Fraziers, Rosemy, Henderson, Britt...why not have EJ Smith on the list as the quick slot guy?
Chantz....we got Bogle and Summerall in this class and Chantz is a great pickup but nothing crucial
Rosemy and Davis just seem to be included cause they are highly rated. IMO Davis is overrated a tad and UF is recruiting extremely well at his position. As mentioned above, WR is well stocked for next class and UF already has 2 key targets committed.
Any remaining top 5 not including Braun and probably Beck to go with Bowman is suspect.
My overall top 5 wish list of non-committed
Bowman, Braun, Tim Smith, Sampah, Beck
Love that list and agree with those top 5 remaining. Lots of competition for Braun (both big bro and little bro). Ohio St, etc
No way that is the coaches list, or even close to it IMO
Good point. That's a random group of great players but doesn't come close to what the coaches are prioritizing. Regarding DTs, it looks like we're almost done.
How many DTs are we taking this cycle? And are these guys committed to the Gators traditional DTs?
I'm pretty sure they aren't the top 5.
Apkgator's list is pretty good.
Seems early to be certain the DTs you want now are the DTs you want to sign in December, but of course I am not an evaluator.
So, the word on Twitter and on here for a few weeks now is that Bowman really likes UF and some expect him to commit before the O&B game. Then this weekend he named UF as his leader. This is all great, but my question is: what is keeping him from committing now? Do recruits of his caliber have to wait for certain things to happen before they're "cleared" or is it some level of comfort that has yet to be reached (but apparently will be reached by the O&B game)? If he's going to eventually be a Gator, what is he waiting for that is keeping him from committing?
This question is in regards to Bowman, but also in regards to other recruits that we may feel "really good" about, yet end up waiting to pull the trigger. Is it just a function of them maybe not being as solid as some may think?
I am sorry you have never been a person. Lol
Wanna know something funny... that's actually my last name
I had to bro.
I've seen Bowman listed at around 4.46 but 40 times are iffy this early on. The more athletic players seem to improve their 40 as they get closer to their senior year. It's not just them getting faster but getting better at running their fastest at that distance on grass. I have a vague recollection of seeing a 100m time for Bowman somewhere in the 10.7-10.8 range. Watching him run it's easy to imagine him getting out of the blocks quickly and continuing to accelerate after 20 or 30 yards.
Exactly, what I like about Bowman is that in every game clip I see of him ... he is the fastest player on the field. That is plenty fast enough for me.
