Usually first week of August or so. Can't find anything on the net. SEC conference starts July 15 about a month from now. Thanks guys.

At least Davis and Heggie will be back for practice as both have reportedly been cleared.

Seems like good news keeps trickling in. Hopefully it stays that way into the season...

Has Grimes been cleared yet? I know Van Jefferson was. .

I may have missed it, but I believe Jefferson was only cleared by the SEC and is still waiting on clearance from NCAA. The Gators did not even file for clearance until the SEC changed the rule that would have prevented him from playing this year.

You have about 6 weeks until things start to heat up.

6 weeks for players to get those PBJ out of their systems, learn the basics, and get in shape.

They only real bad thing is, "6 weeks to get in TROUBLE":monkey:

6 weeks? It was 95 degrees here yesterday!! :D (j/k)

After media days it's pretty much go-time.

We just need to get news on the two WR's and we should be in great shape heading into the fall.

Getting Heggie back is HUGE! I'm curious what happens if he's the starting Center - which has been discussed by the coaching staff (trying him at Center). They must not be happy w/ McCoy for whatever reason.

Because I think Heggie is a better Center and lineman overall.

Because YOU think so. That's great. That's not what I asked. I was asking why the coaches are moving him - and I'd assume they have a similar thought process. But Fred Johnson doesn't give anyone the warm & fuzzies at OG either. The question is: Is McCoy or Johnson more of a liability? I think Heggie is our best OL, btw. Moving Heggie to Center does two things: it almost ensures Johnson remains as the starter at OG and it puts McCoy on the bench. Apparently, McCoy is more of a liability than Johnson.

I agree it's an interesting scenario. Does putting heggie at C give us the best chance to get our best 5 on the field? It appears the coaches believe so.

So you Think? WTF That's just great.

It appears your thoughts are based off the same information I am using - OBSERVATIONS.

He's a better CENTER. Am I the Coach? NO

DUDE, it's June. Lighten-up. And guess what, even if we were coaches, UNLESS we are on Mullen's Staff, WE don't know either. AND with the limited contact, the only coaches who do know are S&C.

    Okay, I'll play along....

I said, "Getting Heggie back is HUGE! I'm curious what happens if he's the starting Center - which has been discussed by the coaching staff (trying him at Center). They must not be happy w/ McCoy for whatever reason."

Then you replied, "Because I think Heggie is a better Center and lineman overall."

So, by your answer, Mullen wants to try Heggie at Center because YOU think Heggie is a better Center and lineman overall.

Okay, glad to know Mullen is making decisions based off of what you think.

And you said, " I think Heggie is our best OL, btw."

    WTF

I'll play along. I am sure glad Mullen's staff cares what you think.

Heggie was brought in as a center. He played Center at Mount Dora HS.

    But what do I know?

What is your issue? This is the summer. If you are this uptight in June, you are in for a LONG July and August.

You asked an opinion. I answered you. I have always thought Heggie was a good fit at center. (That was his Natural Position)

I've said I am not a coach. I am not even a jock. If Mullen is taking my advice we are in BIG TROUBLE.

In the past, I thought play calling was abysmal. Addazio, ALL of the Chump years, and then Nuss. I thought even I could have coached better - YES, we were in TROUBLE.

    Have a blessed day.

I wonder if they're just working him at center, not necessarily looking to replace McCoy? Seems like Mullen wants as many people to be able to snap the ball as possible, since that's what starts every play as he likes to say.

It's time for some good luck. We sure had way more than our share of bad luck last year.

I met Brett at church last year (he was visiting his girlfriend). He seems like a great young man. I wish him a successful and injury free season and career.

Summer B is coming and all the recent HS grads and grad transfers should be here shortly. Summer conditioning is in full force. Excited for the fall

As for me, once we get into August and Fall practice it's officially "football season" to me. So we're only about six weeks away imo.
