Best thing for our team is to be unranked.

Doesn't really make sense, but I agree with Cinci.

UK is in the running to get Reid Travis as a graduate transfer. Adding him would boost the quality of their team tremendously.

I could see a debate between Florida being a top 10 team vs a top 25 team but not ranked doesn't make sense to me. We could say its because of not having a proven replacement for Chiozza but most every team features unproven replacements.

Losing Chiozza and Egor hurts, but we have quality guys coming back and coming in.
I feel like we should at least be in the 20-25 range.
I hope you guys are right in that this exclusion lights a fire for our Gator Boys.

I honestly think he just forgot about us this time around. No logical reason why we suddenly fell below the other teams whose ranking did not change.

Does it really? We now have the bodies down low so Egor doesn't have to play PF, which was where he was valuable to us. Offensively, not much going for him. He took questionable shots to say the least. He couldn't take anyone off the dribble and constantly had his layup attempts swatted. Played hard, and nothing against the guy, but I don't think we'll be missing him.

And my optimistic side says we won't really miss Chiozza for the same reason as above, we now have a true PG. Granted, we'll have a fresh PG who will have a lot of freshmen mistakes most likely. But his mental side is all there and he's already been going against the best competition so if there's anyone who can quickly adjust, it's him. I think he's as ready to start at PG as a freshman as Calathes was.

I think we belong in the top 10-15 range. Experience and talent with a superior coach. Not sure why but our basketball program has been consistently overlooked every single season.

Good points. I agree about Igor, but feel Chiozza was a true PG and will be missed dearly, esp. in 18-19. Do you really think Nembhard is as ready to play as Calathes? If so, we have plenty to be optimistic about.

I honestly do although his stats will never match Calathes since we have legit scorers around him. Our coaches know how to develop guards and he's not a freshman on the mental side. Physically he's already there and he knows how to play defense which is your usual freshman problem. I just watched a recent video and it looks like his body has developed even more. Can't wait to see him here. With Hudson back, it's less pressure on Nembhard.

    On the ball REM.

Last year the Gators were ranked 14, I assume due to Egbunu's return, and despite the fact that all of last year's leaders were complete unknowns (Hudson, Chiozza, 3Gor). This year, losing only 3Gor & Chiozza, and with 3 very likely top 50 recruits, plus having almost surely healed depth in the Frontcourt, the Gators drop out of the Top 25, despite playing in a not respected conference according to this fool. As enemy noted: "He's not the sharpest tool in the shed."

I agree, but us being ranked 14th a few weeks ago, getting Hudson back, and falling out of the Top 25 makes absolutely no sense either, considering we didn't have Chiozza coming back when we were ranked 14th.

Though I definitely think Florida is a top 25 team, I can kinda see how they'd miss the boat because I truly think we are going to have 5 freshman* (2 of them redshirt freshman) that are going to play valuable roles, and it's tough for people to predict the production of freshman beyond the 5 stars. I think most analysts are unfamiliar with how much Chase Johnson and Isaiah Stokes will bring due to them not playing last year. People forget about players so quickly.

That's freaking stupid and I hope he gets called on it! We definitely should be in the top 10-20.

The Gators were mediocre whenever Chiozza was not on the floor. Cheese and Egor were the 2 toughest players on our team. I can understand not being ranked.

Yeah, the argument that we will be a better team with Nembhard at point vs Chiozza reminds me of all the posters who thought K Hill will be a better point guard than Wilbekan just because he was a 5 Star.

I think he just flubbed it and forgot to add the Gators in on the second go around.
