I sure hope so. Now if only guards can shoot them we might be ok.
That does seem a bit high, but we're as talented and deep as any team out there....just too much inexperience playing together to be top 10 right now. I'd rather start lower and slowly climb our way up the rankings. White needs to keep them hungry
That aside, when was the last time we were ranked this high to start the season?
KB shot a ton of free throws last year for V.T. (75%). Excellent shooting form. The overall team % should take a turn upward.
Great. Maybe he works with Gok, love to see him at 70%.
I think he's ready to have a good year. Maybe we play Big a little.
4. Florida Gators
Florida sees the biggest jump from the last time we updated the rankings, and that's entirely due to the addition of Virginia Tech graduate transfer Kerry Blackshear Jr. Blackshear is immediately an all-conference frontcourt player and one of the best big men in the country after averaging 14.9 points and 7.5 rebounds for the Hokies last season. He will team with sophomore point guard Andrew Nembhard to form a high-level inside-outside duo. Mike White also welcomes one of the best recruiting classes in the country, led by McDonald's All-Americans Scottie Lewis and Tre Mann, along with top-50 big man Omar Payne. This team has a very high ceiling.
Three spots too low.
Gak looks healthy in practice clips
I like it too. May not yet be deserved or earned. But good attention getter.
I’m sure most in America would say we are the most over-rated team, or something along those lines. Again: more press! Now, just go out and prove ourselves.
Lastly, Will be interesting how CMW manages this spotlight. Something new.
I like for us to under-promise and over-deliver, so high early season rankings concern me. In my heart, I feel as though UF has the talent to win it all. The high ranking could be positive, though. It might help give the players the confidence and swagger that they didn't have last year.
So yeah, I agree with the ranking, but I prefer to start a little lower and work our way up.
Where can we find these practice clips?
When will KB be participating in workouts?
We lost our best ever free throw shooter, so I'm not so sure about that.
Well, I'd assume he's on his way now.
Good point. However, Kerry made 134 free throws last year compared to 94 for KeVaughn. May be close to a wash.
Interesting and I'm very glad to hear that. Of course he's no Hayes when it comes to FT shooting.
Important that Gak not be in the game in late, tight game situations.

Way premature to make that assessment.
A healthy Gak is an imposing presence in the lane on D. I would expect to see him on the floor late if we are down.
If we are up it is a different story unless we are up a lot.
Hack a Gak? Offense/Defense substitution?
