Not surprising- another victim of crappy player development by UF coaching staff. EJ has talent and had he played with the O talent that surrounded Trask last year, we might be having a different conversation now. I feel for him that he chose to come to a program and coaching staff that let him down and did little to develop his talents. Wish him all the best and I'm certain he will flourish in his next program.

Was really looking forward to seeing guys play qb against UCF who will be here next year. He should be visiting other teams, not practicing at UF. Hope he reconsiders. Good luck to him.

Also, I'm no fan of Mullen, but saying he wasn't developed is nonsense. That's like the only thing Mullen can do. EJ is transferring for a reason. He was going to get passed up here.

  4. I wish nothing but the best for EJ5 in the bowl game and at his next school. He still owes me a new liver for all the booze that I drank while watching him play QB.

I am sorry, but if your foot is out the door, then you need to be out the door. Play the players who will be here next year and give them some experience. The only players who should be playing that won’t be here next year are the seniors. They worked their asses off for UF, and they deserve to play.

If you will be transferring or are/will be in the transfer portal, then you should be watching from the sidelines and letting the players who want to be here get on the field.

Exactly. Even Tim rarely got past option #2.

I’m happy that he’s going to stick around for the bowl. Otherwise with AR15 injured we might have to burn a redshirt for just one game.

It's ok. The QB Whisperer left us with 18 QBs.

He let himself down. Only way he flourishes is if he goes to a non P5 school.

I disagree. Mullen could develop QB's with Emory's skill set. It's Emory's skill set that is holding him back, not lack of coaching.

EJ needs to find another position. I can’t say it any plainer than that.

Look forward to seeing EJ playing somewhere else -- and cheering for him.

This seems like a good thing for all concerned.

I agree that he was a great kid and showed class, more than I would have. But at the same time I agree that if you have one foot out the door, it’s time to move on. I’d rather see Del Rio or Kitna out there. Before you give the “bacon or come on mans”, Mullen didn’t finish out the season for the same reason.

Good luck to you Emory Jones!
Wish you could have continued as a Gator. Thank you for finishing this season at quarterback, you were always a very, good supportive teammate and leader.
