Number of schools choose to stay out of the FHSAA to avoid complying with various rules or sometimes financial reasons....IMG and Montverde are the most visible. No idea why Lee's school does.

Maybe one of us ought to post ourselves at his front door to keep the coaches from Texas A&M away. Folks in that state are starting to think that's where he ends up. I'm sure our coaches are doing everything they can but what do you to lure a kid who has everything and whose parents are going to do what they think is best and probably know what's best? (Sorry Bama. The bag man can't help you this time.) Lucky for us, EJ isn't any higher on A&M's RB board than he is on UF's.

I believe his high school was turned down for some reason.

And has gained three pounds since then. Again, the bigger issue is power. Clement runs upright and is easy to knock off his feet. He wasn't recruited to run between the tackles.

Nor will Smith...most view him as a MAR type player. Look, I think Smith is a very nice player...but he is getting most of our attention because of his dad. I get that. But the coaches seem to have a different pecking order, with Bowman, Lee, and Toafili all higher. I'm sure there will be some shifting in priorities as time goes by, but IMO the focus here on Smith is disproportionate at this point in time

The key for EJ will be fit. What offense does he best fit? He doesn't have exception size or blazing speed. His junior year rushing numbers weren't even that great, though his receiving numbers were pretty impressive. He's a guy who fits a certain kind of scheme and I'm not sure I know what that is, except he'd be a handy player to have if your OL sucked (like UF in '87.)

And we know that for sure? I do trust the coaches but I just wish there was more to go on with Lee.

Really don’t know what to think of him as he wasn’t really utilized last year.

Toafili is a great prospect. Hopefully we're focusing more RBs with serious interest in UF and defenders who can stop Toafili when he plays for the noles.

Emmit doesn’t exactly bleed orange and blue so I’m not sure it’s up to our staff. If sure they will take him if they ca get him.

I’ll bet Mullen knows what to do with him. If anything, he knows how to get the best outta what he’s got. Mullen doesn’t pound square blocks into round holes

I do agree with that, and it’s a shame.

Emmit always ran with power much bigger than his weight. A scale doesn’t tell all.

There is no one committed and Bowman is less of a sure thing. There are probably four or five RBs who can commit any time they want and EJ is certainly one of them. I'm not sure any of the RBs we want is even a lean right now. Lee was the surest thing and we don't know what's going on with him.

Saying anything is for sure is dangerous in recruiting. But that is clearly the consensus from multiple sources that I respect.

I know the sense is he is a Nole lean.....but he did visit UF over FSU for the last Jr day. I doubt he goes the same place as Bowman, but at least there is mutual interest for now.

Toafili, is he 170-175? I ask because if so he’ll be a receiver in college unless he can add 20-25. That’s a lot of weight for a running back?

I think size wise he’ll be a receiver.
