Yeah, I get it. But it's recruiting. Is he less loyal than Bowman or Smith? I think the private conversations between the recruits and the staff are much more telling and critical than what we see

Didn't Lee commit to the previous staff? FWIW, EJ didn't get an offer until the new staff was in place.

No, Lee committed to current staff. UF was still one of Smith's early offers

Your correct sir in that Bowman is 1 and we’d love to have Smith. There are some on this board that don’t realize how good Smith can be.

Soooooo, what If Bowman commits elsewhere, and Lee is already a goner as we know. We have no guarantee on Bowman ( remember Sanders???). Don’t sleep on Smith, that’s my point.

Why do you think Lee is ahead of EJ? Was not very impressed with his clips. He's an amazing athlete but not an instinctive RB.

Agree with you Strange. In fact I’d go as far as to say Smith is a top 3 need for next year. With Bowman no sure thing and the fact that our RB depth after next year will be down we really need Smith.

    21 season
    Perine gone
    Davis Senior if healthy
    Pierce Junior
    Wright Sophomore

Gotta have two this cycle to have the appropriate depth.

I don’t care if he only has 1 leg and paints with poo, you don’t let emit smiths (gator legacy) son go anywhere else. Period.

To me this is the ideal situation. Two great backs that would compliment and drive each other as well as cementing a Gator legacy with a nod to the Smiths.

    Bowman and Smith???

Some see Smith as 3rd don’t. Bowman not a done deal so just saying he’s a must get. Hope there was no slow playing due to Lee.

It's hard to see him being one of our two primary RBs unless he gains a bit of weight and shows some power. Half the time he comes on the field, he'll probably motion out. Could be a valuable offensive threat but not somebody who helps eat the clock.

I'd feel better about Lee if he had played at a big, legit program, had more clips and more stats. His sophomore highlight clip is just over three minutes long. It looks like he only played one season and played against teams who were seriously outmanned on their defensive line. He rarely gets challenged until he's at the second level. Anybody can hit a hole that's five yards wide. He runs about as instinctively as a runaway truck.

EJ plays 6A Texas football. There's eleven minutes of highlight video of him doing everything a RB is supposed to do and a lot of what you expect a D1 caliber WR to do. He has to find a crease on almost every play and take hits almost as soon as he gets the ball in his hands. He might be easier to run down than Lee but he's a lot harder to knock down. Just incredible balance and vision.

Lee dominated in the postseason all star game against top comp...
Florida running back commit Keyvone Lee of Clearwater (Fla.) Superior Collegiate Academy stole the show Saturday night. The 6-foot, 205 pound back showed excellent balance, the ability to make defenders miss, and the power to shed would be tacklers. Lee is also a natural pass catcher and showed he’s a weapon in the passing attack. A poorly thrown screen pass to Lee in the flats was hauled, spun off the first defender, bounced off a big hit, before bulldozing he way across the goal line for a 24 yard score. The state of Florida looks to be loaded at the running back position in 2020, and Lee certainly in that top group of prospects.

I also seem to recall ha had like 200 yards vs IMG.

Clement is also two years older and already in a college S&C program. The bigger issue is running between the tackles. No question about that with EJ. I'm not sure about Clement. He certainly wasn't a power runner in high school. FWIW, EJ is about the same size his dad was as a high school junior.

Nice copy and paste from 247. Any idea why his high school is not a member of the FHSAA? And yes, 200 yards against IMG is impressive.
