And you know how upset Trump gets if anyone misrepresents anything. He just can't stand it. So against his nature.

and yet people still continue to read and respond to his drivel which drives him to post more. At this point I really can't understand why.

I know. Here's the thing for me, despite some of his comments making my skin crawl and other comment being completely off the rails, he's a true believer in an earnest way and not often one to throw personal insults even when folks insult him. I kind of admire him for it, though always hoping he'll give up indulging in conspiracies. Anyway, I have two others on ignore recently because they troll.

This. He actually takes a beating pretty well. Some here have broken far more rules in their responses to him, then he breaks by posting in the first place.

    Thanks! You're a good guy @tilly

I honestly don't want to continue talking about him. But let me get something off my chest.

I've long tried to stay away from talking about people on the board when they're posting here--better to take it private or just confront the person directly. Usually doesn't feel right to me as if the other member is not here and/or not going to see it.

I also probably should have emphasized more that I like fever despite not having met him. There is an earnestness about him and he really doesn't insult folks on here as far as I've ever noticed. And even if I didn't like him, and though I might fail, I don't like to insult people on here or online elsewhere. Public figures, criticisms, different story. I am cognizant of this medium in not always bringing out the best in folks if not careful enough--self included. (Then again sometimes it brings out the very best in people.) I'll leave it at that.

This kind of extrapolation seems extreme; right up until the moment it isn’t.

He’s already refusing to cooperate with the oversight written into the just passed 2 trillion dollar bill.

I don’t think the worst outcomes in your post will come to fruition. But that’s because I still have some faith in others, not because I think he’d never do it.

I’ve never been a poster over here. I now have a better sense of the folks that are unwavering in their support. The cheering crowds at his rallies have a voice in forums that I didn’t fully understand.

I think I thought they viewed him like pro wrestling. An entertaining bit of theater. I didn’t quite get the lengths folks would go to twist logic so that there are no flaws whatsoever to be seen.

I will acknowledge that I don’t have any way to support this opinion definitively.

I find it hard to believe that he is (paraphrasing) heavily engaged in the scientific literature. He is reported to not read much of his briefing books.

It gave me pause when she sang his praises in that area. I think it is fair to be skeptical of that statement. I think it is also fair to acknowledge that there is a chance he dug in and started reading.

Well, it is a very small number that support him without waver.

I voted for him, but think he is an idiot as a human being. And trust me, most normal republicans would escort his but out if he tries a stunt like that without a real reason to. 80% of Americans cherish our constitution. The 10% on the edges are noisy annoyances.

The polls are rising, not falling. He’s the only President since modern polling to never cross 50%. But he’s creeping up in it now. Far more than 10% are unwavering in their support.

That isn't what I said. Yes. We support a conservative agenda. But we would never support him circumventing the constitution to retain power. Huge difference. 10% might, but 80% of Americans would rather see the other side in power than have the constitutional election process tossed out the window.

Of course conservatives will not support a liberal agenda. We can still hold our noses and chose against that. But it is not the same as support for HIM.

Heck more than 10% of Dems actually like how he handling things. They dont actually like him though.

Ok, I take your point. I’m not sure the ceiling is 10%, but I understand the distinction you’re making.
