Again, Miami doesn't seem to be having that problem to the degree Florida is.....so that blows that theory,
Georgia is just about as transient as Florida. Much more so that Texas or Cali. There are very large pockets of fans from other franchises and universities
Miami kids? They may have more Miami ties than your average Florida citizen has to say Florida or Florida State. They have a lot of local talent that stays home. Most areas of Florida however, you see people wearing gear from all over the country.
If your talking Atlanta, absolutely. Get out in the rural areas and they are all bulldogs. I have family in Union county, you won’t see a truck with anything but a G.
Agree. I’m a metro atlanta kid. Have lived my entire life within 35 miles of atlanta but yea the country is def uga Saturated. Half the states population lives in the 5 or so counties around atlanta
I think I was the ONLY Gators fan in my HS when I went there which was 2.5 hours drive from Gainesville and about 6 to Athens. I still can't figure that out.
My oldest kid went to high school for a year in north geo mountains. Gator gear is not recommended for your health.
Exactly, just a few short years ago the State pop was 12mil, now FL is about 22mil. Posters here are bitching about bama lifting our top 10 kids, we'll they're suffocating Texas teams too for their top 10 kids. Bama is also grabbing kids outta of Coach O's back yard.... Can't compete on an uneven playing field.....
Other than the 1 stop for gas that may need to be made.... why would anyone get off the interstate in Georgia? That whole state is junk
I'm not sure we missed on DT this year. Watson and Thomas is nice. Sapp and Boone are large guys which is great at SSDE or potentially DT. Shelton and Newkirk were needed. I think we did well at DT.
When I moved to Georgia and folks back in Florida would ask me about Georgia, I would describe Georgia this way. "Well........there's Atlanta and then the rest of Georgia." I avoided Atlanta at all cost, but then before I retired spent the last 8 years of my career working at the No Metro Facility Postal Facility in Duluth as well as making constant trips to the Crown Rd Postal Facility and Air Mail facility near Hapeville. My wife when we married had a old farm house in Meansville, GA, that gave a very scenic view of Pine Mountain off of the front porch......I always liked that! It wasn't long however after I retired, I was making plans to come back home to Florida.......Georgia never grew on me one bit, the 20+ years I was there. Never caught hell for being a Gator fan, even during the 10+ years I was living in Athens. Will say though despite Georgia Tech's history in football, present day in Georgia the whole state is nothing but Dawg country.
We live in fayette county about 15 miles south of hapeville. I’ve always lived in the country sorta but never more than 30-40 mins from atlanta. I like privacy but I need to be able to get to the city. The 4 sides of metro atl are drastically different. North side is largely transplants. East and west sides are a little more hood and south is pretty country once u get south of Clayton county. It’s home. the wife and I have talked about building down in pine mountain when the kids are done with school. It’s really nice country down there. Can’t leave fayette until they’re done. The public schools in this county are just too good.
Drive another 30 minutes and see the mountains from Chattanooga's side. Nicer view and prettier state.
Nah, I don't mess with women from Georgia. I hate driving through that state to get anywhere. Hundreds of miles of ugly billboards about spas and what not. It's like these states don't even care what product they're showing to the world. Come see our nonsense ugly ass highways with scenic billboards to annoy you as you try to get through our ugly areas.
