You could have Jesus recruiting wrs and Bama is still going to have the same roster. You have to give creedance to that too. Which ones are left that you can actually recruit.
Bowman, Lingard, Shorter?? People talk about our talent deficit because our recruiting rankings are not in the top 5. But what matters is the talent on the field, so why not count the star rankings of the guys we got as transfers? I think I know the answer- because they want to win recruiting just as much as they want to win games. (Maybe more.) And transfers aren't figured in the 247 rankings so they disregard those transfers. Even if these transfers help win us games. It's all about those rankings!!!
I follow you more or less. This transfer thing has the potential to help our recruiting by default if the above mentioned guy end up helping us, win the East and better, win the SEC. I would be more optimistic if we were solid two deep at OL/DL and Trask at QB. We will have some great skill players next season and who better to scheme them than CDM? We have the potential to have a huge and scary receiver group and excellent backfield. It's all about QB(passing) and OL/DL. I just wish our staff would have pulled more and better on both sides past three seasons. I know, water under the bridge. I hope to see two RBs and two TEs in often but that's up to Mullen.
I don't know, I think I'm pretty balanced. We certainly have those who are and those who complain about everything.
Yeah I was referencing another thread over on Swampgas where the poster was disgusted with us and raving about TOS for their more critical discussion
Well as a compliment to you, I think you are truthful. I would replace the word "balanced" with truthful in your post. I hate balance. The middle of the road is the easiest place to get run over. Compromise might allow a temporary peace , but doesn't always represent the truth. The truth isn't always balanced. I think you do a great job of doing your homework and providing truthful info, with the caveat we all know things can change in a heartbeat with an 18 year old kid.
Good point, we were really saved by two transfers, Van Jefferson and Trevon Grimes. 2018 Copland and Justin Watkins (kicked out) 2019 Dionte Mark (transferred), Weston , Whittemore 2020 Xzavier Henderson, Jaquavion Fraziars Hmmmm....
Well I only listed receivers because the convo was about receivers. I understand that but you would never turn these guys down, some of them have panned out WONDERFUL for us like Jefferson grimes and greenard. If they help us build the winning culture back, that sure helps recruiting in the long run
To be fair, the guys recruited the last two years had six nfl receivers ahead of them. We will see the next couple of years if they are any good or not.
After last year, there were also a number of posters absolutely convinced that we were doomed at WR for 2020 because of all the WRs that we lost to the NFL following the 2019 season. Didn't turn out anywhere close to reality; in fact it proved to be just the opposite.
And you're asking to get destroyed on the recruiting trail when I sit down with you and your family and compare and contrast. It's not dirty recruiting to talk about these things. Offering money or inducements is dirty but showing where my WRs have better development, participation and fare better in the NFL is fair game.
