Or anything that sounds like BS, mindless coach speak, etc? Not scripted at all. Love that he and Urban talked about off-season prep.
Definitely excited to see what he does with the program. And so refreshing that our coach sounds competent and fully aware of everything going on in the program.
His communication skills are too notch. First coach in quite a while that would I would enjoy having a few beers with. Seems just like an awesome guy. No bullsmack. No drama. Just cool
He took his entire family, including his mom, to see Baugh on Christmas Eve! Baugh had bigtime money offers from multiple schools. This may have been what pushed us over the top. Christmas freaking Eve and his entire family is at Baugh’s house. THAT, my friends, is the commitment you need. I’m getting fired up.
Wow. A coach that sounds like he wants to bash ya face in as opposed to giving you a forehead kiss has me kinda pumped
With a talent like Baugh he should have been out cutting Baugh's grass, detailing his car and replacing the in ground pump in his septic system....
INCREDIBLE! An event that paid off now, and in the future as the story gets repeated. Reminds me of Meyer's tenacity on the trail.
Sumrall, just like Meyer and Spurrier, sound like coaches. I just hope he thinks like those two legends. He seems like he's cut from the same cloth.
To literally answer the question, As a former toastmaster, I didn’t love the aights (not sure how to spell it) and only 4 of those with no noticeable ums or ahs. I’ll take that all day over yeah,no to start every single answer Ready to run through a wall for this guy
Great interview. A few things that stood out. “I love to win. I want to win right now”. I never got that vibe from the other guy who kept referring to some mythological 5 year plan. When asked about the Kentucky game next year and how import that game will be, the response was “Every game is important.” Refreshingly different from previous staff, who never really seemed to get our rivalry games, treating the losses as ho-hum, process, blah blah blah.
I love what I hear from Sumrall during lying season. I hope I get to see him unapologetically angry when the Gators lose. No more “aw shucks we played our tails off” or “at least we got more yards” or any of that BS.
He was either an Auburn or Alabama fan growing up. Unless he had specific tie to another program like maybe Dad played at Tennessee or the like, then he really had no other choice. Maybe he's mad at both of them for not recruiting him out of HS.
I guess I'm in the minority but I think a lot of what he says is coach-speak. It's just that somehow it sounds more legit than when it's coming out of his mouth
