He meets the requirements so I say yes even though he left us with a mess. He’ll get there eventually but I’m sure they are waiting for more people to forget about his lap dance.
Absolutely. He meets all the requiremenrs. To not have him there demonstrates nothing but petty callousness on our part.
IMO, his "honor" is right up there with Pete Rose in the HOF. He will be...in time. The real question is, is the current environment good enough to allow it? I realize the "honor" involves certain tangible achievements, which is bizarre to me, but if I had to make a case of who exactly is at the top of Gator Great, it would have to be Charlie Pell. He took a backwater, but resourceful, football institution and brought it up to a standard that allowed others to prosper. No Charlie, maybe we are more like Vandy than we imagine.
Although I loved Charlie when he was here, he is the reason behind fsu becoming what they became under Bowden. Probation cost us players that ended up at fsu and they beat us with them. Yes, Charlie is who made it great to be a Florida Gator, but there's a difference between how he left our program and how Urban did. Urban has earned his spot on the Wall just as Lomas did.
I say yes, but wouldn't mind waiting a couple more years just to make sure he doesn't do anything stupid.
Uh, yes. He has double the number of national championships of a certain coach that Florida has named the stadium after.
