Dems try to Impeach Trump over Iran bombing and fall woefully short

No on impeachment. 4 years to watch Don completely deteriorate in public view.

 

Trump has and will commit serious impeachable offenses. The attack on Iran is really not one of them. By the way this comes to mind (from 2013).

If the Democrats regain their House majority following the 2026 midterms Trump will almost certainly be impeached a third time with violation of the emoluments clause coming to immediately and the final result will most likely be similar to the other two considering that it takes a 2/3 Senate majority to remove a president from office.

 

Pretty sure we could impeach pretty much every president since Truman under this premise. Biden bombed Syria if I recall.

 

The only way in hell he get's impeached and removed is if the D party gets a super majority in congress The gop will never impeach him no matter what he does.

 

Should we impeach him if (when) we can substantiate that the bombing was a staged (telegraphed) $314 million nothingburger ?

At least the majority of Dems didn’t vote for something stupid…. Republicans haven’t been able to say that for 10 years.

 

When 20% of congressional democrats do something dumb it’s an outrage. When 20% of congressional republicans do something dumb it’s progress.

 

Evidently, the bombing fell woefully short.

But what does it matter when Trump says two weeks, then bombs the next day, after juggling just knock out nukes with nothing less than regime change … and scores of millions take him at his word when he says “obliterated” ?

It was a stupid idea, as were the impeachment resolutions filed against Biden. Politicians being showboating children

 

Regardless of this latest stunt by the Dems... I think the standard threshold to impeach a POTUS in the House should be 2/3s of the House vote and not just a simple majority. That simple majority threshold makes it way too easy to toss that impeachment threat around. Crimes and misdemeanors have to be better PROVEN and delineated ahead of time as well, IMHO.

Great post. Getting tired of these bogus impeachment stunts on both sides. You may or may not agree with Trump on whether he should have bombed Iran but based on recent history of US Presidents on both sides doing basically the same thing, there were absolutely no grounds for impeachment.
