Newsmax segment on the border. It boils down to God vs Satan.

FYI Logan is a longtime reporter and was with CBS when she was reportedly sexually assaulted in Egypt at a demonstration that made international news if you remember that.

I’m not afraid of much but cockroaches scare the beegeebers out of me. Doubt if I could eat one even if I was starving.

When you’re too weird for even Newsmax

but, seriously, what is this? I imagine she’s not the only one. Mass mental illness? …

If I believed in such things, I’d think Satan had hijacked Christianity and all these people are actually minions of Satan. Either that or brain sucking aliens.

In reality, it probably is a form of mental illness driven by social media and iPhone addiction. It is apparent there is a type of “information overload” where a number of people simply are not able to process good info from internet bs. The lack of critical thinking is obvious from those who just repost memes or a jumbled mess of talking points, there is a certain incoherence. It *is* surprising seeing this from someone who used to be a professional journalist. It was literally her (purported) job to be able to cut through the bs. I would assume a mental break, but there are others out there (Maria Bartiromo) so that makes me think something else is going on, some type of intentional corruption.

Don’t forget in this woman’s case she was also the victim of a trauma. She is so far “out there” she might actually need mental health care. Problem is she or someone in her family has to recognize it and seek care. Instead it seems they keep trotting her out to fringier platforms (presumably) to get the next payday. I mean to get banned from Newsmax… wow.

It's one thing for believers to say something innocuous such as God smiled on the Gators after a win. But the people who think God has helped or will help their political side in a given election have to explain why God helped the other side in the prior election or may switch sides next time. Maybe God is one of those elusive fence-sitter types that I have wondered about.

If we prayed for a pass defense …?

Actually, I imagine many have. God must be busy elsewhere.

What's even more confusing to me (trying not to over-generalize here) is that while most conservative Christians believe in free will at the individual level, they also believe that certain things are destined to happen based upon their interpretation of Biblical prophecy - things that are part of God's plan and presumably can't be altered. To many, that prophecy includes bad times and tribulations before Jesus returns. I'm not saying conservative Christians shouldn't push back or promote their beliefs if they feel moved to do so. But if horrible tribulations are God's plan, why would anyone who believes in those prophecies be optimistic that God is going to make sure the good guys are in control? It makes no sense to me.

Will do if I’m still alive. I’m 69 and the atomic clock has been ticking since I was a kid. I’m tired of waiting.

God told me he’s a Gator fan too, because the sun is orange and the sky is blue.

Next time I talk to him I’ll ask about the elections.

I think she has always leaned conservative but it seems like she was extremely traumatized by the Egypt incident, understandably, and this seems to be the way she is dealing with it, unfortunately.
